JOBS IN MWANZA - Bugando Medical Centre - 12/31/2015



Bugando Medical Centre is a consultant and teaching hospital for the Lake and Western zones of the United Republic of Tanzania. It is situated along the shores of Lake Victoria in Mwanza City. It has 900 beds and over 1000 employees. It is a referral centre for tertiary specialist care for eight regions, namely: - Mwanza, Geita, Simiyu, Mara, Kagera, Shinyanga, Tabora and Kigoma.lt serves a catchment's population of over 14 million people.
Bugando Medical Centre is therefore inviting suitably Tanzanians to fill the following vacancies;-

Driver II (1- Post)
Entry Qualifications:

Holder of an Ordinary Secondary School Certificate with passes in English, and holder of class "C'' driving license with certificate of driving training from a recognized Institute. Must have undergone motor
drivers course at a recognized institution and posses 'Trade Test" Grade III (mechanicals), with at 'least three years of class "C" driving experience.

Duties and Responsibilities
Driving cars and buses as well as other motor machines.
Ensuring that fuel, oil, water, tires and the general state of the car has been checked before use.
Providing driving services to BMC staff.
Transporting parcels from BMC offices to other offices, transport terminals and vice versa.
Maintaining the log-book for each and every trip.
Ensuring that the vehicle is serviced as planned.
Carrying out small repairs if the vehicle breaks down.
Reporting for major preventing repairs to the Transport Officer

Accounts Clerk II (1- Post)

Entry Qualifications:
Holder of NABE 1111 ATEC II/NABOCE/Ordinary Diploma in Accountancy or related field

Duties and Responsibilities:
Receives and keeps in proper custody all bills, invoice and other claims pending payments
Keeps and post cheque registers
Keeps and maintains voucher files
Prepares wages payroll

Salary Scale –PGSS 5
Age Limit –Not above 35 years of age

Biomedical Technician II (1-Post)

Qualification

Holder of a Diploma in Biomedical Engineering from any recognized and reputable institution.

Duties and responsibilities
Perform repairs of biomedical systems according to standards and adhering to the manufacturer's recommendations if any. (use manuals, drawings, schematics, etc)
Observe safety precautions to personnel, tools, instruments and equipment
Record and monitor timely the performance of machines, installations, buildings and equipments using CHECK LISTS.
Ensure economical and correct use of the Institution properties.

Registry Clerk II (1- Post)

Qualifications:
Holder of an Ordinary or Advanced Secondary School Certificate with
Certificate in Record Management from recognized institution.

Duties and Responsibilities
Carrying out filing activities and recording the general register.
Following-up movement of files from office to office.
Handling postage and collection of mail from the post office.
Maintaining postal registers and registers of incoming mail.
Photocopying documents

Radiographer II (1- Post)

Entry Qualification:
Holder of a Diploma in Radiography (X-ray) from a recognized institution must be enrolled in the register of Medical Radiology and imaging Professionals as a Radiographer.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparing contrast media and chemicals for X-rays.
Processing X-ray films.
Keeping and maintaining patient's records.
Up-keeping of X-ray equipment in the department.

Laboratory Technologist II (1- Post)

Entry Qualifications:
Holder of a Diploma in Laboratory Technology from a recognized
Institution, who have been registered in the register of the Health
Laboratory Practitioners as Health Laboratory Technologist.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Receiving, extracting and recording samples for laboratory examinations.
Preparing laboratory equipment and chemicals for laboratory tests and examinations
Keeping and maintaining patients records
Maintaining list of laboratory equipment in the department
Carrying out laboratory examination of samples and recording the
results under the supervision of a Senior laboratory Technologist

Age Limit Not above 3S years of age

Medical Attendant II (8- Posts)

Qualifications
Holder of an Ordinary Secondary School Certificate and must have at least three (3) years working experience in the related field. Must have a Pre-Nursing Certificate from recognized institution.

Duties and Responsibilities
Providing basic health education to in patients and relatives in the ward.
Ensuring that all utensils are clean.
Inspecting the Institute clinical areas.
Advising matron on all matters relating to cleaning duties.

Assistant Nursing Officer II (5-Posts)

Entry Qualifications:
Holder of a Diploma in Nursing from any recognized Institution and has been registered in with the Nurses and Midwives Council of Tanzania.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Nursing care of patients
Administering medicine and treating patients as prescribed
Adhering to the rules and regulations of DDA
Giving health education to patients and their relatives
Conducting ward rounds

Nursing Officer II (2- Posts)
Entry Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Nursing' from any accredited and recognized nursing institution, registered with Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council with one year of internship.

Duties and Responsibilities
Teach of student nurses and/or medical students.
Apply the installed integrated hospital management information systems in all activities and reporting.
Adhere to the prescribed inpatients and outpatient treatment manual and procedures.
Ensure that prescribed instructions are carried out
Salary Scale PMGSS.6.1
Age Limit Not above 40 years of age

Pharmaceutical Technologist II (5-Posts) .

Direct Entry Qualifications
Holder of a Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution must be
enrolled in the register of Pharmacy Council of Tanzania as Pharmaceutical Technician.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Dispensing prescriptions from approved prescribers or from a Pharmacist
Dealing with pharmaceutical production
Keeping routine records of drugs and hospital materials
Calculating costs of each prescription and recording the sale registers

Salary Scale - PMGSS.4.1
Age Limit - Not above 3S years of age

Pharmacist II (1- Post)
Direct Entry Qualifications:
Holder of a Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) or its equivalent from a recognized institution and must be registered by the Pharmacy Council of Tanzania as Pharmacist, with one year of internship.
Dispensing drugs as per prescriptions
Compounding/Manufacturing medicines
Assisting in procurement and maintaining adequate stock of drugs
Sorting out and listing drugs expiring within three months for the attention of Senior Pharmacist
Salary Scale PMGSS.7.1
Age Limit Not above 40 years of age
