Finance Officer Vacancy
Under the supervision of the Country Director and within delegated authority, the Finance Officer will be responsible for the following:
Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensure all payment activities are properly recorded in the Fund's Accounting System;
• Audit various payment transactions e.g. changes in payment instructions, benefit deletions, suspensions & reinstatements, adjustments, etc, to ensure adherence to relevant financial regulations and rules;
• Examine and record financial transactions of Offices and prepare remittances for disbursement;
• Assist in processing payments to governments and vendors for goods and services, including calculating, inputting and checking for correctness and communicating any discrepancies to supervisors;
• Assist in processing payments to staff members for their entitlements including salaries, claims, education grants and income tax;
• Draft/prepare memoranda and/or faxes to various offices, departments and overseas offices, incorporating field expenditures into Headquarters' accounts;
• Prepare journals and disbursement vouchers as required;
• Settling expenditures against budgetary allotments;
• Ensure accuracy of payment transactions and proper settlement of travel claims;
• Respond to queries from staff members and third parties;
• Verify the accuracy of historical/payable invoices' download;
• Perform other duties as required.
Requirements/COMPETENCIES:
Professionalism, Planning and Organizing, Communication and Teamwork.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Completion of Secondary School Certificate. Certificate in accounting, finance or related field is a requirement.
Experience: At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in Finance or Accounting, Administration, logistics or related area.
Desirable: Knowledge of the ERPs and Computerized system is desirable.
Excellent GIA Score.
Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English.
Skills: Computer skills, Excel spread sheets.
