Background
The Private Forestry Programme (PFP), is funded by the Governments of Finland and Tanzania. It aims at increasing rural income in the Southern Highlands of Tanzania through developing sustainable and profitable forestry and value addition along the entire value chain from quality tree seeds to quality wood products.

The Programme wishes to recruit a Programme Office Administrator for its main office in Iringa

Terms of reference
The Programme Office Administrator (POA) will ensure that Programme operations are effectively
supported with office services, tools and materials. In addition, the POA will play important roles in
managing Programme facilities, managing Programme events,
safeguarding Programme documentation, and Programme communication. Specifically the POA will:
a) Manage programme facilities, space, store, travel bookings and daily purchases;
b) Supervise office service providers and follow up their performance;
c) Support management of programme events, programme documentation and communication,
d) Support organisation of trainings, consultants' visits, and other field visits;
e) Support project monitoring data collection and entry into databases;
f) Support the TA team in preparation of quarterly and annual reports and other materials for distribution;
g) Take minutes of meetings
h) Translate between Kiswahili and English languages
i) Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Team Leader;
j) The POA will report directly to the Programme Team Leader.

Qualifications and capacities
The POA will be required to play an important role in Programme delivery, and this will require specialist skills and a strong work ethic. Specifically the POA will have:

a) Good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to cope under pressure and in multi-sectoral and multi-cultural teams;
b) Strong, results orientated work ethic,
c) Integrity, accuracy, ability to prioritize and make decisions;
d) Fluency in the use main office applications, MS Office in particular;
e) Fluency in verbal and written Kiswahili and English languages;
f) Willingness to travel in Tanzania;
g) At least Diploma Certificate in administration/accounting, and minimum of five years of experience in business administration or secretarial and/or accounting services; OR at least 10 years' experience of respective duties with proven record; Experience of bilateral development projects is an advantage;

Duration
Initially a one year contract will be offered based on satisfactory completion of a six month probation period. Further employment may be possible depending on work performance.

Duty station
Programme office in Iringa with occasional travel to other regions in Tanzania.

Salary
A competitive salary will be offered based on competencies and work ethic.
