 PROCESS PLANT MAINTENANCE SECTION LEADER 

Acacia Mining seeks to employ a Process Plant Maintenance Section Leader based at Buzwagi Mine in Tanzania. This role reports to the Asset Reliability Manager and the role holder will be accountable to co-ordinate, direct and organize systems and team effort to deliver industry best practice in processing asset reliability. 

This is a fixed term contract role, with the work roster being six weeks on and three weeks off. 

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES 

• Ensure maintenance is carried out to ensure the availability of plant equipment (fixed and mobile) to allow the achievement production targets. 
• Ensure 95% Planned Maintenance (PM) compliance. 
• 100% completion of capital projects in the plant on time and within budget. 
• Increase in Plant MTBF. 
• Manage the processing maintenance budget, including both capital and operating expenditure. 
• Maintenance cost reduction (cost / hr) 
• Assist supply chain to set stock levels for maintenance spare parts and reduce total inventory. 
• Reduction in stock-out events. 
• Maintain an effective PM parts planning system for PM's. 
• Identification & Compliance to critical inspections. 
• Management of plant critical risks & critical controls. 
• Ensure work is executed in accordance with shutdown plans and weekly plans. 
• Manage the work of contractors assigned to maintenance work on the process plant. 
• Provide leadership to ensure that employees and contractors adhere to safety and environmental standards. 
• Manage succession planning within the section to ensure the development of team members to assume positions of more responsibility. 
• Manage minor project work. 
• Ensure the completion of scheduled maintenance activities. 
• Initiate, assess, and support business improvement initiatives. 
• Work in accordance with business processes and systems. 
• Manage workshop facilities. 
• Assist in the development of training plans and material for team members (development plans etc.) 
• Ensure that team members meet their performance objectives, and provide ongoing training, mentoring and performance management for team members. 

ROLE REQUIREMENTS 

Qualification Requirements: 

• Tertiary qualified in mechanical engineering (degree or trade qualified) 

Experience Requirements: 
• 7-10 years' experience in mining, construction or heavy industry 
• 5 years' experience in an operational leadership (maintenance management) role 
• Must have implemented continuous improvement projects 
• Extensive experience in a mineral processing environment
