2. ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS ACADEMIC POSITIONS
A. TUTORIAL ASSISTANT (PUTS 1)
• This is a training post, the staff is required to undergo a Masters Degree training programme after confirmation and satisfactory performance of two years
• Undergo an Induction course in pedagogic Skills for those who had none before
Qualifications: The candidate should possess a good Bachelor's Degree (3.8 GPA or above) in the relevant discipline or equivalent professional qualifications. Must be computer literate, capable of using ICT to enhance teaching and learning.
Duties:
• Write scripts for radio broadcasts, video and audio cassettes, various reports and papers.
• Supplement existing study materials.
• Edit, review and translate course materials.
• Assist senior staff in preparing content for e-Learning for the ELMS.
• Provide support materials, guidance and counseling and other services to students.
• Maintain students' records correspondence and other communications.
• Help in general academic administration as will be required by seniors.
• Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor, The Faculty Dean or the Director of an Institute and/or the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) from time to time.

B. ASSISTANT LECTURER/ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN (PUTS 2)
Qualifications: The candidate should possess a good Master's Degree (B+ or above GPA 4.0 - 3.6) in the relevant discipline or equivalent professional qualifications, a GPA of 3.8 and above at undergraduate level. Must be computer literate, capable of using ICT to enhance teaching and learning.
Duties:
As for Tutorial Assistant plus:
• Write new study materials, scripts for radio broadcast, video and audio cassettes, various reports and papers.
• Undergo an induction course in pedagogic skills for those who had none before
• Adopt and/or supplement existing materials.
• Liaise with course writers, editors, reviewers, producers, artists, coordinators and other members of the course team.
• Revise course materials and audio programmes.
• Conduct public lecture, tutoring and leading academic discussions.
• Set and mark course assignments and/or tests, examinations supervision of field work, practicals and all other related academic activities.
• Encourage and motivate students to improve academic performance.
• Help identify and set up local study groups.
• Conduct research and disseminate research findings.
NB. Age limit: Not above 35 years.
B. LECTURER (PUTS 3)
Qualifications: The candidate should be a PhD holder in the relevant field or equivalent professional qualifications. Should have a Masters Degree in the relevant field with a GPA of 4.0 out of 5, and a Minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent in the first Degree with a score of B+ in the relevant subjects or its equivalent. Must be computer literate, capable of using ICT to enhance teaching and learning.
Duties:
As for Assistant Lecturer with added responsibilities, the candidate will be required to:
• Conduct face to face lecturer sessions and lead seminars.
• Undertake induction course in pedagogic skills for those who had none before
• Undertake individual research and participate in bigger multi-disciplinary research projects.
• Prepare manuals and case studies for training.
• Provide close supervision and guidance to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Manage undergraduate programmes.
• Undertake consultancy projects.
NB. Age limit: Not above 45 years.
D. SENIOR LECTURER (PUTS 4)
Qualifications: The candidate should be a PhD holder in the relevant field or equivalent professional qualifications. Should have a Masters Degree in the relevant field with a GPA of 4.0 out of 5, and a Minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its
equivalent in the first Degree with a score of B+ in the relevant subjects or its equivalent. Must have 3 years work experience should be computer literate, capable of using ICT to enhance teaching and learning.
Duties:
• As for an Assistant Lecturer with added responsibilities, the candidate should demonstrate the ability to head a Faculty, a Directorate, a Regional Centre, or a Department. In the case of Senior Research Fellows, they should be able to manage some major research projects.
• Teach face to face course and lead seminars.
• Undertake individual research and participate in bigger multi-disciplinary research
• Projects.
• Prepare manuals and case studies for training.
• Offer close supervision and guidance to students.
• Manage undergraduate programmes.
• Undertake consultancy projects.
NB. Age limit: Not above 45 years.
E. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (PUTS 5)
Qualifications: Requirement at this level MUST be a PhD; a Masters Degree in a relevant field with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of 5 and a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent in the first degree with minimum scores of B+ in relevant subjects or its equivalent. In addition one must have post PhD working experience of 6 years and 13 points from international peer reviews publications (from at least two sources including a minimum of 40% from diversified journal publication.
• As Senior Lecturer with additional responsibilities such as initiation of new programmes, supervise postgraduate students, offer consultancy, write papers that would advance the frontiers of knowledge, formulate academic policies, and offer technical assistance to University organs. Should demonstrate ability to lead an Institute, Faculty, or Department and be able to manage major research projects.
• Prepare and publish manuals or textbooks in related fields.
• An Associate Professor should demonstrate the ability to provide highest leadership in a discipline/research/supervision.
• Conduct formal training in specific multidisciplinary University projects.
• Conduct public lectures, tutor and lead Academic discussions.
• Provide personal guidance and advice to clients in the field; undertake large consultancy projects.
• Provide guidance to staff; provide close supervision and guidance to students, Manage Undergraduate programmes.
• Teach face to face courses and lead seminars; Prepare manuals and case studies for training.
• Identify and set up local study groups, conduct research and disseminate research findings.
• Write new study materials, scripts for radio broadcast, video and audio cassettes, various reports and papers.

F. PROFESSOR (PUTS 6)
Qualifications: Requirement at this level MUST be a PhD; a Masters Degree in a relevant field with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of 5 and a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent in the first degree with minimum scores of B+ in relevant subjects or its equivalent. In addition one must have post PhD working experience of 9 years and 18 points from international peer reviews publications (from at least two sources including a minimum of 45% from diversified journal publication
Duties
As for Associate professor with additional work, a Professor is also expected to deliver a Professional Inaugural lecture within two years of promotion.
2. ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER II –PGSS 11, TWO (2) POSTS
Qualifications: Holder of First Degree or Advanced Diploma in Public Administration, Human Resources Management, Law or any other related field. Must be computer literate.
Duties:
• Deals with general office administration
• Follow up on general cleanliness of office surroundings.
• Assists in ensuring that bills pertaining to utilities are paid on time.
• Processes orders for office consumables.
• Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT OFFICER II, PGSS 11 - FIVE (5) POSTS
Qualifications: Holder of First Degree or Advanced Diploma in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Sociology, Law or any other relevant field. Must be computer literate.
Duties:
• Assists in data entry duties in HRMIS and HCMIS.
• Assists in preparing human resources planning and training programmes.
• Follow up on staff pension and terminal benefits.
• Assists in collecting, analyzing and presenting human resources statistics.
• Assist in conducting periodic surveys to determine the prospective human resources demand and supply situations.
• Assists in handling staff welfare matters.
• Assists in issues related to Staff IDs, Social Security Cards and Health Insurance Cards.
• Performs any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

MARKETING OFFICER II - PGSS 11, TWENTY TWO (22) POSTS
Qualifications: Holder of First Degree or Advanced Diploma in Marketing or related qualifications, with a major in Marketing. Must be computer literate.
Duties
• Assist in marketing University's programmes
• Assist in preparing promotional materials
• Assist in performing Public Relation duties.
• Assist in organizing all the University events
• Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor

PERSONAL SECRETARY II - PGSS 10, SIX (6) - POSTS
Qualifications: Holder of National Form IV/VI Certificate or foundation course certificate plus two years Diploma in secretarial studies from a recognized Institution. Must be computer literate.
Duties
• Types confidential and non confidential documents.
• Ensures expedient, accurate and clean execution of duties
• Facilitates travel for staff within the Unit
• Prepares meeting and records Proceedings.
• Attends telephone calls and keeps appointments.
• Types all general correspondence and non-confidential matters.
• Types letters, minutes, notices, bulletins, circulars, certificates and charts
• Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

LIBRARY OFFICER II - PGSS 11 - TEN (10) POSTS
Qualifications: Holder of First Degree in Library and Information Management/Science or a related field from a recognized institution. Must be computer literate.
Duties
• Maintains "book catalogue".
• Processes books and other documents.
• Ensures proper shelves of books and periodicals.
• Copies catalog with Cataloguing in Publication (CIP) data.
• Handles inter-library loans, gifts and exchanges.
• Assist in administering library records.

TRANSPORT OFFICER II - PGSS 11 – ONE (1) POST
Qualifications: Holder of First Degree/Advanced Diploma in Transport Management, Transport and Logistics
Management or related qualifications with Class "C1" or class "E" driving license. Must be computer literate.
Duties
• Follows up on periodic service manuals for motor vehicles
• Prepares a maintenance schedule for motor vehicles.
• Checks vehicle log books and ensures that fuel consumption corresponds with mileage.
• Follows up on motor vehicle accidents and submits claims to the Insurance Company for compensation in liaison with the University Legal Counsel.
• Assists in coordinating transport services for the University.

LEGAL OFFICER II – PGSS 11 – ONE (1) POST
Qualifications: Holder of LLB Degree plus one year attendance of Law School. Must be computer literate.
Duties:
• Compiles relevant evidence for court cases involving the University
• Indexes, files and registers Government, University notices and all other legal documents and ensures their safe custody.
• Follow up on registration of all legal documents and probate matters.
• Follow up on documents and correspondence of filed cases.
• Deals with routine legal correspondence addressed to the University.
• Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

TECHNOLOGIST - PUSS 4 – TWO (2) POSTS
Qualifications: Holder of First Degree or Advanced Diploma in Computer Science/ Engineering/Technology or equivalent in a related field from a recognized institution.
Duties:
• Assists in all technical duties requiring a higher degree of planning and designing competence in the areas of student's practical's and projects.
• Assists in research and development activities.
• Assists in maintenance of facilities.
• Assists in organizing students practicals.
• Participates in consultancy projects under close supervision of senior staff.
• Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

COMPUTER PROGRAMMER II – PUSS 4 - THREE (3) POSTS
Qualifications: Holder of First Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems/ Telecommunication/Electrical Engineering/Information Technology/GIS or any related computer studies.
Duties
• Advises and assist computer users.
• Installs standard software's.
• Troubleshoots hardware/software problems.
• Assists in installations of modems and dial-up networking.
• Solves simple hardware/software problems.
• Assists in designing and coding small system jobs for users.
• Assists students in debugging programmes and programming systems
• Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

COMPUTER TECHNICIAN II - PUSS ½, TWELVE (12) POSTS
Qualifications: Holder of Form IV/VI Certificate plus Full Technician Certificate (FTC) or Diploma in Computer Science/Technology or equivalent from recognized institution.
Duties
• Assists students and staff in practical training.
• Assists in software maintenance.
• Assists in running small scales customer jobs.
• Allocates computer times to customers.
• Maintains hardware register.
• Maintains programme software library.
• Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN II - PUSS 1/2 – ONE (1) POST
Qualifications: Holder of Form IV/VI Certificate plus Full Technician Certificate (FTC) or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
or related field from a recognized institution. Must be computer literate.
Duties
• Inspects installations and recommend repair of electrical works
• Assists in the repair and maintenance of electrical systems for laboratory or workshop facilities.
• Assists senior staff in relevant fields of operation
• Conducts daily inspection of the university power system and make sure that power supply is available all the time.
• Checks and carries out minor electrical repairs.
• Performs any other related duties as be assigned by the supervisor.
CIVIL TECHNICIAN II – PUSS 1/2, ONE (1) POST
Qualifications: Holder of Form IV/VI Certificate plus Full Technician Certificate (FTC) or Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field from a recognized institution. Must be computer literate.
Duties
• Establishes requirements and draws up a list of materials required for various jobs.
• Assists in the repair and maintenance of laboratory or workshop facilities
• Assists senior staff in relevant fields of operation.
• Checks and carries out minor repair tasks.
• Inspects installations and recommends appropriate repair tasks.
• Carries out masonry, plumbing, carpentry works, etc.
• Performs any other related duties as be assigned by the supervisor
