A.Responsibilities
The Midwife is responsible for implementing daily operational aspects of all issues related to maternal health part of IMCH initiative
Conducting capacity building (kick off training, follow up trainings, mentoring and
coaching) to maternal health care service providers

B. Tasks
3.Management and coordination
The Midwife
Contributes to the development of maternal health care improvement strategic and operational plan and budget
Participates in training that will further develop the maternal health team to become effective trainers, supervisors, mentors and coaches of maternal health care providers according to MoHSW standards
Practically supports facility maternal health service providers to adapt and practice standard good quality day to day running of maternal health services, in particular the clinical and capacity development elements
Assures continuation of stable quality of care and treatment for Newborn patients in targeted facilities (e.g. strengthen internal/external communication with facility
management, new born services etc.)
Advices and supports health facilities on strengthening effective data management according to MoHSW standards
Contributes information relevant for monitoring and audit of processes relating to maternal health clinical practice and care in line with MoHSW guidelines and tools
(e.g. the MNCH monitoring card)

2.Communication and networking
The Midwife
Assists knowledge management collects, processes and shares information within the maternal health team
Contributes ideas to resolve issues and improve maternal health work flow
processes
Participates in relevant meetings and useful events
Other projects and duties as directed by the maternal health department managers

C. Required qualifications, competences and experience
Diploma in Midwifery or public health from a known Tanzanian training institution
At least 3 years of practicing midwifery
Good practical experience on Maternal Health care
Skills on Basic and Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and New born care
Trainer on BEmONC/CEmONC is an advantage
Knowledge on ICT (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office, excel)
willingness to travel (within the region) regularly
Good command of English (written and spoken) and Kiswahili
willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed -corresponding measures are agreed with management
