Youth of the United Nations Association (YUNA) is a youth led non-profit and non-governmental organization (NGO) that works to promote the work of the UN and further its objectives among youth in Tanzania.YUNA is volunteering based organization which is registered as a fully-fledged NGO in 18th February 2005 with registration number of 12969 by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Job position: Secretary General
Office address: P.O Box 9182, Dar es Salaam Tanzania
Employment time: 2 year with starting of 1 year as initial contract
The Secretary General will be responsible to the Executive Committee, reporting directly to the YUNA National Chairperson.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• To ensure that the day-to-day operations of the office run effectively and efficiently
• To develop and implement effective systems of administration and information record-keeping
• To provide relevant information to individuals and groups and to ensure that good standards are maintained in all communications with the public and the stakeholders
• To ensure that all information is effectively recorded and shared
• To ensure that financial records are accurate and up to date using manual andcomputerised systems
• To create, maintain and update the membership database
• To attend Executive committee meetings and take minutes
• To process and update information gathered from research surveys and feedbackquestionnaires basing on organization status
• To oversee the operation of membership services as and when specified by the Chairperson as approved by the Executive Committee
• To supervise the staff members in the office and ensure that best practice from themis implemented particularly in relation to policiesand organization constitution
• To be flexible in approach to work and undertake any other duties that may berequired with the remit of the organisation
The Person Specification
• Proven experience of general management including staff supervision
• Proficient at using a range of IT packages including Microsoft Word applications
• Excellent communication skills and strong membership relations emphasis
• Excellent organisational skills and motivated to work on own initiative
• A constructive, positive and progressive attitude to working as part of a team
• Experience of working with voluntary and community based organization
