Position Project Accountant
Department & Location :Programmes
Tarime District Mara

Reports to (position): Project Officer
Provides timely and reliable financial information and analysis that leads to effective decision making for EC funded Ending Child Marriage and FGM Project.
To manage the corporate financial information system for Ending Child Marriage and
FGM Project and ensure compliance and internal controls are adhered to in the procurement and payment process.

Key End Results of Position:
Project cash and budget management
Responsible for project reports, budget monitoring and ensure adherence to financial control, process and procedure within EC guidelines
Prepare Weekly and monthly Project cash forecasts in a realistic manner
Review Cash Disbursement vouchers '
Review purchase requisitions and orders.
Review payment packages for budget availability and correct coding.
Monitor budget versus expenditure.
Ensure timely processing and disbursement of payments to legitimate suppliers an liquidations to Plan
Prepare work plan and budget in co-ordination with the project team and make sure that all expenditures are according to work plan and budget and within EC guidelines
All other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Dealing with Problems:
Working with partners and ensure Project results are achieved timely without compromising with quality
Managing donor grants with strict reporting deadlines
Operating in remote and with vulnerable communities
Promotes innovation and learning
Communicates clearly and effectively , Appreciation of child rights and Gender equality
Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours Required to Achieve Role's Objectives:
Knowledge
In-depth knowledge of the Finance and accounting and preferably minimum three years of experience in Non-profit making organisation
A degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification
CPA will be an added advantage
Analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills appropriate to the audience
Proficient Computer skills and use of relevant accounting packages
Ability to work under multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
Good English language skills( oral/written)
Physical Environment and Demands:
Working environment will include both typical office environment and field environment 80% office work and 20% field work
