Mobisol is a leading German company for prepaid Solar Home Systems (SHS) dedicated to delivering a clean, affordable alternative to fossil fuels for low-income households living without access to reliable energy. Mobisol's products combine solar energy with innovative mobile technology and microfinance. Mobisol is currently serving over 7,000 customers in Tanzania, Kenya and Rwanda. In the future, Mobisol aspires to scale rapidly in order to reach hundreds of thousands of households within the growing BoP (Bottom of Pyramid) market – thereby stimulating economic and social development in project countries while simultaneously contributing to global environmental protection. 

Our largest operations are in Tanzania where Mobisol has established a strong sales base as well as a qualified and highly motivated local team of over 80 employees. Mobisol Ltd has been established in 2013 to foster and expand our operations within the Tanzanian market and accompany our growth in East Africa.

 

As part of our expansion plan in Tanzania, Mobisol Ltd is looking for Marketing Teamleader for our Central Zone Hub. The Marketing Teamleader will base in our office in Dodoma Region.

 

 

 

The main role of  Marketing  Team Leader is primarily responsible for helping the growth and strengthen Mobisol's brand awareness in target markets through trade marketing and to facilitate achievement of the company's sales target.In Addition, the Marketing Leader will collect feedback from potential & actual customers and will conduct market research on a regular basis through Marketing Officers.

 

 

The responsibilities include but not limited to:

 

Marketing  Teamleader is also responsible for;

 

Trade Marketing

  • Prepare & Keep Up to date yearly, quarterly and monthly Marketing Plans for the zone.
  • Coordinating and Evaluate Marketing Programs, Campaigns and Events through marketing officers.
  • Effectively Communicate to All Marketing Stakeholders to ensure maximum impact
  • Evaluating marketing schedules for the zone in close coordination with the sales department and marketing manager.
  • Coordination for the implementation of the agreed number of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects for the company in line with the company's marketing objectives
  • Spread Mobisol Brand awareness through Wall paintings, Fliers, Posters and Radio Adverts under guidance of the Brand Marketing Officer
  • Communicate with Zonal Media Houses to achieve maximum attention for high potential marketing activities
  • Coordination with Zone Sales Team Leader to ensure attendance of Sales Agents at marketing events (entity to make sales out of leads created)

Market Analysis

  • Coordinate for the Surveys with Local Authorities, Potential Customers and other stakeholders to evaluate and facilitate market entry decisions
  • Coordinate for the Gathering and centralize Market Intelligence through internal company channels (ie Customer Care Dep) and through field research
  • Market Analysis reports should be prepared in coordination with all Marketing Manager and Sales Team Leader and be submitted to CDO as well as the Zonal Hub manager

 

Reporting:

  • The Marketing Team Leader will be reporting to the Marketing Manager.
  • The report should include reports about all marketing activities conducted in the month and an evaluation on return on investment of these activities (Journey Plan, Territory File, Daily Run Rate)
  • Market Analysis Results will also need to be reported to the Zonal Hub manager and the national hub

Authority:

  • The MTL is part of a team under the guidance of the COO, hence efficient team work is of highest importance.
  

 

Qualifications and skills required:

 

  • University Degree in Marketing or similar
  • Driving License
  • Experience with promotional strategies, in particular in targeting rural markets and their demands
  • Experience in presenting to an audience of 50+ potential customers
  • Experience with solar products is an added benefit
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar position
  • Very good spoken and written English
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a Team
  • Self management & organizational skills, reliable character
  • Marketing Design Experience is an added advantage
  • Good level of computer literacy (i.e. email, calendar, Office, Databases)
