The African Development Bank is at the centre of Africa's transformation delivering on sustainable economic development and social progress in its regional member countries. The Bank seeks to recruit a Division Manager for the NEPAD-IPPF Special Fund, which is a multi-donor fund hosted and managed by the African Development Bank Group through the NEPAD Regional Integration and Trade Department. Your role will be to lead the NEPAD IPFF Special Fund to support African countries and Regional Economic Communities to prepare high quality, bankable and viable regional and continental infrastructure projects in the energy, water resources management, transport, and information communication technology sectors, in order to solicit financing from public and private sources.
Defining and updating the Fund's strategic orientation, you will prepare the business plan, implement a resource mobilization strategy and maximize donations from current and new sources. At the same time, you will initiate the processing of disbursement requests, increase the involvement of the private sector and process new applications for grants, whilst delivering fresh thinking and a wealth of innovative ideas. You will also be central to realizing ongoing projects, as you assist promoters in reaching financial closure and conduct wide-ranging field visits, whilst co-ordinating research and oversight activity – so your importance cannot be overstated.
With at least a Master's degree in business administration, finance, economics, management, engineering or another relevant discipline, you will bring extensive finance, infrastructure project preparation and implementation experience. You will have a good grasp of socio-economic and development issues in Africa; great people management skills applied in a multicultural environment, and a strategic mind-set that can bring about innovation and change to the division, and the department.
