Director and Treasurer - Treasury Department of the African Development Bank
Oversee our Treasury Management function and contribute to Africa's transformation
Established in 1964, we are the premier pan-African development institution promoting economic growth and social progress across the continent. Bringing together 78 member states, including 53 in Africa, we're delivering the financial and technical support for truly transformative projects that will significantly reduce poverty and deprivation. Reporting directly to the Vice President – Finance, you will direct, co-ordinate and supervise our Treasury Department – making you central to our development mandate.
We will look to you to mobilize funds from capital markets to support our activities, whilst developing effective investment strategies and managing our liquidity. At the same time, you will oversee banking relationships and effect authorized payments and you will actively develop new financial products and services, giving you extensive scope to demonstrate your creativity. Much of your time will be spent shaping strategy and contributing to our broader management team, and you will enjoy an extremely high profile as you represent the Bank at meetings with rating agencies and other key stakeholders.
Qualified to master's degree level in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or another relevant quantitative discipline, you will bring extensive experience of international capital markets and fixed income products. Naturally you should be a seasoned manager and strategic thinker, and you will possess deep understanding of financial instruments (particularly bonds, derivatives and structured products) and the evolving regulatory environment, backed by expertise in all aspects of the Treasury function. Finally, you will be extremely computer literate, including SAP, Bloomberg/Reuters and ideally Summit/Numerix, and capable of communicating effectively in English and or French with a working knowledge of the other language.
This position is based at our Headquarters in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, and closes on 26 January 2015. Interested applicants should, attaching their Curriculum Vitae, submit their applications through the career pages of the African Development Bank website: http://www.afdb.org/en/careers/
