SACEM, the Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers of Music, is dedicated to protecting, representing and defending the interests of creators of music. A private organisation in a fast-changing economy at the heart of musical creation, we are also very active in the area of cultural projects, bringing support to musical diversity and Live Performance.

We seek a Media Relations Specialist in the national and international sectors for our Communication Department. (18 month contract). The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting Sacem's mission through traditional media, new media, and strategic partnerships.

Your key duties will be:

• In keeping with the company's communication strategy, prepare and implement media plans targeting national, European, and international media;
• Define key messages based on communication strategy and positioning;
• Write communication materials: press releases, social media, and various communication tools to help get across Sacem's messages; pitch feature ideas;
• Serve as the spokesperson for Sacem when responding to media inquiries;
• Promote Sacem's cultural creation program and activities to French and international media;
• Organize Sacem's speaking engagements at various national, European and international trade events (Midem, Colcoa, festivals, institutional meetings); some travel may be required;
• Search for and develop international media partnerships as well as maintain and manage relationships with the various media;
• Prepare and follow-up dedicated budget under the supervision of the department Manager, as well as negotiate with communication service providers and external contractors;
• Monitor Sacem's visibility and reputation at European and international level.

Candidate profile:

The ideal candidate should hold a higher education diploma (master's degree or equiv.) in Communication, completed by good general instruction; 5 to 10 years of professional experience in a similar position and excellent knowledge of the international media sector. Fluency in written and spoken English and French is a requirement. You must be rigorous, enjoy teamwork and be ready to take initiatives while having a sense of confidentiality, diplomacy and human relations. Familiarity with the music industry and cultural contexts would be appreciated. Working location to be discussed.
