Job Description

To be the source of reference within the Country in facilitating and promoting the understanding of Regulatory Compliance risks.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Perform Country Compliance Risk Assessment which drives Country compliance Assurance Plan.
Ensure results of reviews and progress of corrective actions are tracked to closure.
Ensure that group compliance policies are implemented effectively within all the Businesses and Functions, new regulations are properly communicated, and provide quality assurance on the design of the control measures and monitoring plans.
Help the businesses to design and implement control measures and monitoring plans for compliance risk management.
Review the controls in the businesses and other functions to ensure that controls are effective for compliance monitoring  through sample testing in 'compliance assurance reviews', undertaken in the second line of assurance.
Ensure adherence to the risk management framework in identifying, controlling, monitoring and reporting of compliance
Ensure sufficient actions are undertaken by Business Functions to comply with all key Regulations that affect the business.
Ensure sufficient actions are undertaken to mitigate, reduce or contain the identified Compliance risks, including monitoring and tracing identified risks to closure
Undertake a risk-based comprehensive and desk top compliance reviews to assess compliance with local regulations and compliance policies, escalating issues to Country Undertake ad hoc reviews from time to time as may be directed by the Country Head of Legal & Compliance.
Prepare and submit to CORG annually compliance assurance plan for approval
Assist the Country Head of Legal & Compliance in preparing the functional level OR profile and other relevant reports for the CORG and Group Functions and ensure accuracy and completeness of data.
Ensure all essential policy and regulatory requirements are communicated and disseminated to the relevant parties on a timely basis.
Provide training on Regulatory compliance awareness to all staff.
Prepare for submission all the reports required by the Group e.g. Regulatory Risk Management Information Reporting, Compliance Review Progress report
Perform Group, Business and Legal KCSAs for Compliance Function and capture results in Optial/Phoenix as appropriate.
Maintain and update an inventory of Laws and regulations that are applicable to the bank. Update the inventory for new legislation, perform gap analysis and advise impacted business and functions

Qualifications & Skills

Compliance Experience in a  reputable Organisation
Excellent communication skills
Ability to interact with various stakeholders
5 -7 Years of experience
