Over the coming months, Statoil will be looking for the best talents to join one of the most exciting Oil & Gas Projects to take place in the North Sea and work from their new operations centre in Aberdeen. Although the actual positions are not expected to be open earlier than April 2015, we invite you to apply today. The Statoil team will contact you to discuss the future openings and opportunities.
Statoil is an international energy company with operations in 35 countries. Building on 40 years of experience from oil and gas production on the Norwegian continental shelf, we are committed to accommodating the world's energy needs in a responsible manner, applying technology and creating innovative business solutions. We are headquartered in Norway with approx. 21,000 employees worldwide, and are listed on the New York and Oslo stock exchanges.
The Mariner project is the largest new offshore field development to take place in the UK in over a decade. The development of the Mariner field will substantially contribute to job creation in the region with more than 700 long-term, full-time positions. The Mariner Field is located on the East Shetland Platform of the UK North Sea, approximately 150 kilometres east of the Shetland Isles. The Mariner oil field consists of two shallow reservoir sections – the deeper, Maureen Formation at 1492 meters and the shallower Heimdal reservoir at 1227 meters.
This heavy oil project requires expert knowledge and development of pioneering technology. Since its discovery thirty years ago, the Mariner field has been a subject to a number of development studies by different operators. Statoil is the first company to put forward a development concept that will fully address the complexities of this field, in particular related to reservoir management, recovery rates and project execution. Statoil's extensive heavy oil experience from offshore fields in Norway and Brazil gives it the competence and confidence to develop the Mariner field.
We are currently looking to recruit talented Contract Specialist to join our Aberdeen operations.
