Assistant Manager/Manager, Risk & Regulation-Prudential Risk
The Risk and Regulation Group is a diverse team that provides high quality, innovative advice and solutions to financial services firms who face regulatory and risk issues.  As a Prudential Risk Assistant Manager/Manager in this group, you will work as part of a team on a wide range of clients' projects to review and improve firms systems and controls surrounding overall risk management and to ensure compliance with the various prudential regulations. This role will focus on investment management firms which are supervised by the Financial Conduct Authority ('FCA').
Responsibilities

Risk & Regulation ‑ Prudential Risk ‑ Assistant Manager/ Manager will have responsibility for:
  • Performing assessments of clients' Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Processes ('ICAAP') and providing reports detailing their compliance with relevant rules and industry best practice.
  • Performing assessments on clients' risk management frameworks, systems and controls including consideration of risk methodologies, policies and wider enterprise risk management frameworks.
  • Assurance over regulatory capital and liquidity calculations for investment management firms.
  • Interpretation, impact analysis and preparation for current and forthcoming capital and liquidity regulation.
  • Investigations in response to emerging/ identified regulatory concerns, and/ or support with remediation.
  • Involvement in the preparation of bids for client proposals, including presentation of materials.
  • Providing support and training to other team members or internally on areas of expertise.
Requirements
  • Degree and / or relevant professional qualification and / or significant relevant consulting or industry expertise
  • Experience in finance, risk or compliance department or other relevant department
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting, including where possible relevant accounting qualifications
  • Experience in the asset management industry, specifically knowledge of relevant business model of investment management firms
Additional desirable experience includes:
  • Technical knowledge of some or all of the following areas; GENPRU, BIPRU, SYSC, Pillar 1 capital calculations for investment firms, Pillar 2 risk assessment and quantification, reverse stress testing
  • Change/Project management in financial services institutions or in Consulting.
  • The ability to work under own initiative and in many different and challenging environments.
  • Experience at a relevant regulator or responding to recent regulatory actions such as RMP or attestations.
  • Experience on Section 166 on prudential or risk management issues
  • Good presentation, business writing and professional standards.
  • Knowledge of FCA capital and liquidity reporting;
  • Hands on experience in working on day to day in prudential related functions or prudential related projects to address issues with ICAAP's, ILAAS or compliance with prudential regulations in asset management firms. 
  • Knowledge of latest developments to global capital standards and reporting requirements specifically impacts on investment firms.
