The Small Industries Development Organization is a Parastatal Organization established by an act of Parliament No. 28 in 1973 to plan, Co-ordinate, Promote and Offer a variety of services to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). As part of implementing its Organizational Structure it is hereby inviting applications from Suitably qualified, competent, committed and experienced Tanzanians to immediately fill the following vacancy

Reporting to the Research and Planning Manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Holder of University Degree in Economics or Equivalent.
Awareness of issues concerning small enterprises sector.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A business-like attitude.
Business experience in micro and small business development activities is an added advantage. . Training or teaching experience and knowledge of and experience In moderation and facilitation techniques are an added advantage.
Computer knowledge in Micro-Soft application packages (Excel, Word, Power Point, Publisher, etc.) is necessary
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To conduct area, sectoral and economic studies and industrial surveys of benefit to 5100 and the country a whole.
To collect, analyze and evaluate statistics and information on economic and social factors which affect small-scale industries.
To conduct industrial census with a view to identify and screen potential investment opportunities.
To prepare long and short term sectoral, development and other plans required for the development of small-scale industries.
To prepare progress reports of development projects and annual report.
To make initial evaluation of project proposals with a view to determine their economic viability and commercial profitability.
To undertake pre-feasibility and pre-investment studies in establishing and promoting joint ventures or co-operatives.
To identify and promote entrepreneurs.
To negotiate and secure adequate long-term financial resources for 5100 to achieve its targets.
To establish and maintain Data Bank for the organization Perform any other activities as may be assigned by Supervisor.

REMUNERATION
According to 5100 Salary Scale SOGSS 1.

GENERAL CONDITIONS AND MODE OF APPLICATION:
All applicants must be Citizens of Tanzania and not above 45 years old, however, applicants for senior Positions Who are above 45 years old and are currently employed in the public service should route their application letters through their respective employers.
Applicants must attach an Up-to-date current Curriculum Vitae (CV) having reliable contact, postal address, e-mail and telephone numbers and at least three reputable referees (preferably work related for those Who are employed).
Applicants must attach their detailed relevant certified copies of all academic certificates With two recent passport size picture and birth certificate. (Form IV and Form VI results slips, testimonials, partial transcripts will strictly not be accepted).
Presentation of forged academic certificates and other information in the cv will necessitate to legal action.
Applicants for entry levels currently employed in the Public Service should not apply, they have to adhere to Government Circular Na. CAe. 45/25710110/140 dated 30th November, 201 O.
Certificates from foreign examination bodies for ordinary or advanced level education should be certified by The National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA).
ii) Certificates from foreign Universities should be verified by The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU).
