Reconditioning / Warehouse Technician (Job Opening 332095)

Location: Whitehorse, Yukon

The Reconditioning / Warehouse Technician is responsible for the sharpening and reconditioning of rock tools according to defined specifications and the shipment, receipt and distribution of materials in a timely and accurate manner.

Reconditioning Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains rock tools to defined specifications
• Maintains bit reconditioning report log
• Troubleshoots and provide technical recommendations and improvements to Supervisor
• Assists in training of customers and Sandvik employees as required
• Reports occurrences that may indicate improper usage or selection by operators
• Completes accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports
• Stays current with industry, customer, product developments and technical best practices
• Builds sound relationships with the rock tools team and internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations.

Warehouse Technician Responsibilities

• Assists with shipping and receiving, unloads trucks, checks in materials and stores in appropriate location
• Files appropriate documentation
• Processes sales orders and invoices in accordance with company process
• Updates and maintains warehouse location system
• Assists in cycle counting and physical inventory
• Prepares export documentation as required
• Maintains shipping supplies inventory
• Arranges shipping/transport
• Accepts/rejects vendor inventory transactions

Performance Indicators

• Compliance with agreed Safety and Environment Management Plan
• Maintain safety certifications in accordance with Company policy
• Conformance to ISO standards
• Bit sharpening according to quality standards and specifications

QUALIFICATIONS

• Completion of Secondary School (High school)
• Knowledge and/or experience with industry-specific equipment
• Ability to work as part of an integrated, broad team
• Detail oriented with good time management and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to develop knowledge of customer business processes in relation to product reconditioning
• Shift work as required
• Travel to customer sites as required for deliveries and pick ups
• Responsible for issuance and control of on-site inventories where applicable
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with strong active listening skills
• Ability to develop knowledge of customer business processes in relation to product rebuild
• Computer literacy
