The COMESA-EAC-SADC Tripartite has received financing from the African Development Bank hosted NEPAD Infrastructure Project Preparation Facility (IPPF) toward the cost of the North South Corridor: Preparation of Feasibility Studies, Detailed Engineering Design and Tender Documents for the rehabilitation of Five Selected Road Sections in Botswana, Malawi and Zimbabwe, and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for the Preparation of Feasibility Studies, Detailed Engineering Designs and Tender Documents for the rehabilitation of 64 km Pandamatenga – Nata road section in Botswana.
The services included under this project are;
• Full feasibility studies for the rehabilitation of the road section, covering technical, economic, environmental and social issues in order to provide the Tripartite and the Botswana Government with sufficient information for decision making on the preferred alignment and proposed rehabilitation of the road section;
• Preparation of detailed engineering designs, drawings, cost estimates and tender documents for the improvement of this international road along the NSC.
The COMESA-EAC-SADC Tripartite and the Roads Department, Ministry of Transport and Communications, Botswana shall be the client and implementing agency respectively and the project is to be implemented over 8 months.
The COMESA-EAC-SADC Tripartite now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (nationality of firms, brochures, annual financial and staff turnovers, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.
Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank's "Rules and Procedures for the use of Consultants"
