International Foundation Baltasar Garzón (FIBGAR)
The International Foundation Baltasar Garzón is a private foundation social, non-profit founded in 2011, for human rights and the Universal jurisdiction.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Foundation is looking for a professional degree in law which is incorporated as a volunteer in Tanzania to collaborate with the Hadzabe ethnic group project.
THE PROJECT
The Hadzabe are an ethnic group from Tanzania, specifically located near the lake Eyasi. They constitute one of the last groups of hunters-harvesters of África and they closely follow the customs of their ancestors, using their same subsistence strategy. Their lifestyle is very similar to the one of the paleolithic and their language, consisting of clicks and cracks, is the oldest on earth.
The arrival of other groups and the modernization has moved them away from a good part of the lands where they had always hunted and harvested and has brought aids and alcohol, which could turn, if measures are not taken, into the vanishing of the Hadzabe cultural heritage. The ethnic group just wants to keep the way of life they have always had because, in words of Jordi Serrallonga, "their best future is their past".
FIBGAR and the The Kobo Trust Foundation, humanitarian organization with various projects in favor of disadvantaged communities, work together for the protection of the Hadzabe ethnic group and its cultural heritage.
