Machining Specialist - Eastern Ohio/Western Pennsylvania

Sandvik Coromant, the world's #1 supplier of cutting tools and know- how for competitive machining, is currently seeking a Machining Specialist supporting the Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania territory of the United States.

The role

In this key role, the Machining Specialist, under limited supervision from the Regional Sales Manager, is responsible for the execution of technical & engineering support to the region or work group, which he/she is assigned for the complete line of Sandvik Coromant Products, technical and engineering services.

Key performance areas

• Promote and drive the development of projects, value selling, and techniques within your Zone
• Drive project creation by assisting the sales team in developing, planning, scheduling and directing process development opportunities
• Provide technical and application support to other regions as required by the Technical Manager
• Make planned sales calls on accounts and prospective accounts alone or in conjunction with a Sales Representative or other Sandvik Coromant personnel to develop new business, support existing business and/or make technical recommendations to customers regarding the use and application of Sandvik Coromant tooling
• Work with and provide engineering, application and process development support for Sandvik Coromant end-users and channel partners to deliver the "Ultimate Customer Experience"
• Work as a liaison to Product Management and the field sales team to enhance communication, resolve issues and/or train Sandvik Coromant personnel in their respective Zones
• Through testing and evaluation, either alone or in conjunction with a Sales Representative or other Sandvik Coromant personnel, assist in the field based testing of new or existing Coromant products
• Utilize Tailor Made, CAPP and CESAM (Coromant Engineered Solutions Application Marketplace) to provide product proposals, pricing and delivery quotations requests directly to the distributor / end user
• Work with Sales and Channel Management to take advantage of the incentives and discount programs for tooling new machines to increase sales and market share
• Coordinate the identification of new or changing market trends to assist Product Management in the development of sales forecasts
• Coordinate/Participate/Present in distributor, end user, and internal training programs on subject matter that pertains to but not limited to product selection, application, value selling, and Smart Events under the direction of the Technical Manager, the RSM's, and the Director of Sales

Your Profile

• Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation skills)
• Must possess computer / software skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, Basic CAD)
• Requires a minimum of an associate in applied science degree in a related field with two or three years job related experience or equivalence in a technical application position with a similar industry and a minimum of three years of experience with Sandvik tooling application
• Must be able to perform mathematical calculations applicable to product applications including but not limited to Trigonometry.
• Understands how to read and interpret customer part prints and geometric tolerance requirements
• Must possess a current driver's license valid for his/her state of primary residence
• Employee must be legally eligible to work in the United States
• Employee may be required to undergo security clearance screening and obtain same for entry into some customer's facility
• Must be able to travel on overnight business trips for >50% of their time
• Territory of normal coverage will include Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania, but may occasionally extend beyond if necessary
