Skateistan is looking for a motivated individual to join our Berlin team as a paid IT Intern. The position will provide hands on experience in Skateistan's IT Department, which works diligently to keep our projects online and connected across the globe.
In 2012 Skateistan moved its international headquarters from Kabul, Afghanistan to Berlin, Germany. The new office has allowed us to connect closely with our support networks worldwide, serve a hub for our traveling project-based staff, and the primary location for our global fundraising efforts.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to write and communicate well
- Must be a very quick learner
- Must be able to document solutions and instructions
Necessary skills:
- Ubuntu Linux system administration experience - apache, MySQL, etc
- Competence in designing/coding using HTML/SCSS/JavaScript
Desirable System administration skills:
- Experience with AWS EC2
- General Windows & Mac OS X administration and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with DNS & domain administration
- Experience administering Atlassian Confluence
- Experience with Google Apps
- Experience with Salesforce
- Experience with the Drupal CMS (which powers www.skateistan.org)
Desirable Programming skills:
- Experience with Responsive Web Design (Foundation Framework)
- PHP programming experience (preferably also Ruby / Python)
- Experience in working with APIs
How to apply:
