Human Resources Business Partner Job at Serengeti Breweries Ltd Serengeti Breweries Ltd (SBL) operates exclusively in Tanzania and is the 2nd largest beer company with a market share of close to 30%.  SBL is a subsidiary of East Africa Breweries Ltd (EABL) – which is partly owned by one of the world's biggest alcoholic beverage companies, DIAGEO. The company is an integrated demand/supply business with 3 operational breweries in Dar Es Salaam, Mwanza, and Moshi. The company boasts famous locally brewed brands, such as Serengeti Premium Lager, Tusker Lager, Tusker Light, Kibo Gold, Pilsner Lager, Senator just to name a few. The spirits folder is filled with world-class brands from abroad – including Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker, Baileys, J&B and Gordon's.

Key Purpose of the role
  • The HR Business Partner will lead and manage the end-to-end Organisation and People strategy and agenda for the functions, reporting to the HR Director, to ensure the business objectives area achieved through the utilization and deployment of the critical levers of talent, engagement, reward, change management, employee relations and HR performance through service delivery.
  • All best in class programmes, tools, policies and frameworks need to be deployed effectively while being focused on compliance as an enabler to this performance
  • The HRBP will be responsible for the end-to-end HR delivery and people performance in the Functions across SBL and for leading on the people aspects of change initiatives that will results in improved performance and efficiency.

Main Responsibilities 
 
  •     Ability to build great relationships/partnerships with the business/function taking accountability for the delivery of the organisation and people strategy and HR performance, working in conjunction with the HRD, the leadership team and the Service Delivery team to deliver HR Services to the function
  • Create and partner on a talent strategy and plan for the function that will deliver F17 ambition.
  • Coaching of leaders in function on their leadership, challenging thinking, being creative and innovative about how to achieve commercial outcomes through people
  • Maintain a business understanding and credibility to deploy the appropriate organisation and people levers to achieve the business goals and strategy (including, talent, reward, employee relations and engagement activities)
  • Engage key stakeholders to deploy and deliver value adding HR interventions
  • Partner with leadership team on implementing appropriate functional training initiatives
  • Responsible for the deployment and embedding of HR initiatives in the function, including roll out of HR policies and procedures
  • Analysis and use of data to understand trends & issues and meet the business needs
  • Great understanding of all components of the HR Operating Model
  • Support the HR Director to ensure the full remit of HR agenda is delivered for SBL
  • Role model the Diageo Values and set standards in the area of leadership through personal behavior an coaching
 TALENT & LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT
  • Create and partner on the talent strategy and plan for the function that will deliver F17 ambition.
 RESOURCING
  • Own and manage the manpower resources for the functional area including planning on an annualised basis for optimised headcount management (e.g. approve open vacancies for Line Managers).

ORGANISATION EFFECTIVENESS
  • Lead organisation change initiatives for the functional area working with the Talent & Change Director and the HRD.
 REWARD
  • Reward & Recognition Programmes – identify any workforce specific requirements and work with EABL Reward Manager for expertise and advise in development and implementation
 EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
  • Oversee interviews and investigations on ER issues, complaints, and grievances, connecting with Service Delivery to ensure proper case management and record keeping
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Degree in relevant field 
  • 5- 8 years strong functional HR or people management or change management experience
  • Experience of partnering with the business on all aspects of the people agenda
