Kepa is seeking a development Policy Officer for its country office in Dar es salaam, Tanzania for a two years period starting from December 2014 or otherwise agreed.
The Development policy Officer will participate in the planning and implementation of Kepa's global programme in close collaboration with local CSOs and Kepa's headquarters in Helsinki, Finland. The Development policy Officer will work under supervision of Kepa's Country Director in Tanzania.

RESPONSIBILITIES;
• Participate in the joint planning, coordination and implementation of Kepa's programme in Tanzania and in the East African region, together with local colleagues, Country Director and other Kepa offices
• Monitor and Analyzing development policy issues and civil society operating environment in Tanzania and in the East Africa region
• Gather information and conduct background analysis to support Kepa's advocacy work
• Keeping contacts with kepa's member organizations, Finnish Embassy and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland as regard to situation in Tanzania and the civil society views
• Identify potential partners and coordinate the partnership support
• Networking and exchange of information with local civil society organizations on development policy works
• Planning and writing of articles for Kepa's publications
• Share information on topic issues and processes in Tanzania with Kepa's headquarters in Helsinki, Kepa's member organizations and local partners
• Write news, columns and articles to Kepa media and communication channels
KEY QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESSFUL JOB PERFORMANCE
• Academic degree in development studies or related area
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Finnish and English languages
• Knowledge of development policy issues, specially of International development cooperation and financing ,global economic policies and climate justice
• Experience of working in developing country, preferably in the East Africa region
• Knowledge of the work and development cooperation of Finnish and Southern CSOs
• Good cooperation and networking skills
ADDITIONAL ASSETS
• Work experience from Tanzania or the East African region
• Activities in CSOs
• Working knowledge of Kiswahili
