Scale Manager , Washington, D.C


Scale Manager , Washington, D.C Chemonics seeks a scale manager for the anticipated USAID-funded, Washington-based worldwide Wildlife Trafficking Technology Challenge (WTTC) program. WTTC will use challenges and competitions to stimulate the creation of innovative and affordable science and technology solutions to combat wildlife trafficking. It will focus on movement of trafficked wildlife and wildlife parts (including detecting existing routes, predicting future routes, and movement of trafficked wildlife on the Internet); forensics and intelligence gathering (including identifying illegal wildlife products and improving intelligence gathering and management); reducing consumer demand (including promoting change in societal and cultural norms and raising awareness of illegal products); and anticorruption. The program will also support scaling up of successful ideas resulting from these competitions. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.​
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Work with the wildlife technology challenge winners to develop and implement a plan to create a viable product to market the winning technologies and then develop and implement a plan for scaling them up
  • Support and work with the senior prize manager throughout the wildlife technology challenge and scaling up period
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in a relevant field preferred
  • Experience engaging nontraditional stakeholders such as business incubators, collaboration hubs, investors, and related groups
  • Experience accelerating and taking innovations to scale
  • Strong interpersonal and management skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
