Unilever Tea Tanzania Limited is a plantation company operating under Unilever Tea, East Africa (UTEA). UTTL employs over 5,500 employees whose safety and security are very important to the business.
We are currently looking to hire Field Assistants, Assistant Accountant Payables, Procurement & Supplies Officer, Quality Assurance/World Class Manufacturing, Mechanical Technician, Clinical Officer, Registerred Nurses, Assistant Manager Production and Hospital Administrator for our Tanzania business. These roles will be field and office based and requires candidates with knowledge for the job.

Job Position: Quality Assurance/WCM Officer (1 Post)
Reports to: Technical Operations Manager
Location: Mufindi - Tanzania
Business Context and Main Purpose of the job
To support the implementation of Unilever specifications, standards and quality management Systems (QMS) for quality assurance and controls in alignment with applicable regulatory requirements. This key role ensures systems are in place to comply with local and international regulatory requirements and drive Quality improvement activities to ensure product consumer safety and overall quality address consumer/customer issues in line with world class Manufacturing Protocols
Main Accountabilities
1. Support implementation of UL QMS across the entire supply chain in make and that the final product conform to applicable made black tea standards
2. Support effort to verify compliance of site operations to UL QMS through program of internal audits
3. Support preparation of local procedures and work instructions that ensure UL and other applicable standards are accurate presented
4. Support data collection, analysis and assignment to standard quality loss tree in support of operational KPls reporting
5. Completes and maintain external audits and certification
6. Verifies and document compliance to regulatory requirements, applicable UL quality and consumer safety standards
7. Verifies and documents traceability of materials, packaging and products including annual dummy recalls or mock drills
8. Supports implementation and ongoing compliance with UL GMP for primary tea processing
9. Verifies calibrations in factories and maintains program for inspection, measuring and resting requirement
10. Supports program for product line fill control through monitoring and verifying line fill parameters and compliance
11. Supports implementation and maintenance of system where key quality data and information are recorded and preserved
12. Supports and participates driving of WCM - Quality pillar activities in factories
13. Supports process capability studies to maintain alignment between process capability and specification limits in processing and filling operations
14. Applies current tools and practices to support management quality related projects
15. Utilizes advanced statistical knowledge to support process capability studies and maintains alignment between capabilities of processing, filling operations and specification limits
relevant Skills and Experience
1. Quality in enterprise (Define it)
2. Quality planning (Design and develop it)
3. Quality in operations (make and deliver it)
4. Quality improvements (Do it better)
5. Bachelor degree in food science/production technology: i.e Agricultural/Mechanical/Electrical/Process Engineering
7. Registered with relevant professional bodies in commensurate to own level
