Position: Project Development Coordinator
Area of expertise: Fundraising, project management
Immediate supervisor: Head of EDO
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Facilitation and administration of fundraising-related activities.
- Project development-related support.
Fundraising-related activities:
- Regularly screening websites and funding sources (mostly European public institutions and European financial programmes) on the basis of pre-defined criteria and strategic priorities, and informing staff about opportunities.
- Following developments and strategies of the donor community (bilateral and multilateral donors), in addition to mapping and identifying current and potential donors.
- Preparing briefs and other documents explaining donor policies and trends, and informing senior management about major donor-related issues.
- Project management facilitation:
- Liaising with project staff responsible for the preparation of project proposals and concept notes.
- Providing administrative support during the preparation of project proposals and concept notes in line with specific donor requirements and REC internal policies.
- Keeping track of submitted concept papers and project proposals.
Reporting:
- Preparing reports on REC fundraising activities.
- Compiling fundraising reports for meetings of the Board of Directors and for other purposes.
- Maintaining an archive and undertaking responsibility for information management within the unit.
Experience required
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant work experience.
Education required
- Advanced degree with specialisation or college/university degree in Environment, Business Administration, Communication, International Cooperation for Development, Law, or another relevant field.
Skills required
- Familiarity with and interest in environmental, social and economic issues of the Central and Eastern European region.
- Solid organisational and project management skills, including budgeting and knowledge of the project management cycle.
- Understanding of subject matter, and expertise in managing projects and programmes (project design, implementation and business strategy alignment, geographic standards, practices and programmes).
- Work experience in and knowledge of REC countries of operation.
- Combined working knowledge of technical/professional principles and concepts, with in-depth knowledge of team objectives.
- Excellent interpersonal-, communication-, negotiation- and representation skills in relation to a wide spectrum of international donors and clients of REC services.
- Fluency in English and at least one additional language from the REC's beneficiary region.
- General computer and administrative skills, including knowledge of spreadsheet applications and database maintenance.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and be a team player.
- Ability to work in a flexible manner on multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently.

This full-time position is based at REC Head Office, Szentendre, Hungary.
