BACKGROUND
The Nelson Mandela African Institution Science and Technology (NM-AIST) has been established under Tanzania's Universities Act No. 7 of 2005, and as part of a network of African Institutions of Science and Technology (AISTs) in Sub-Saharan Africa. The NM-AIST envisions becoming a World-Class Institution of Higher Learning dedicated to the pursuit and promotion of excellence in science and engineering, and their applications for economic growth and sustainable development in Africa. The NM-AIST endeavors to deliver and promote high quality and internationally competitive teaching and learning, research and innovation, and public service in science, engineering and technology leveraging on entrepreneurship for enhanced value addition to people and natural resources, with a view to stimulating, catalyzing and promoting economic growth and sustainable development in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has granted NM-AIST employment permits Ref. No. BC.10/87/012/J/88 and Ref. No.BC.10/87/012/J/84 to employ 18 staff.
Personal Secretary I - 2 POSITIONS
Minimum Entry Qualifications and Experience:
Holder of Diploma in Secretarial Studies plus 100/120 w.p.m shorthand in English or Kiswahili and 50 w.p.m typing, tabulation and manuscript stage III, and who has completed advanced Computer Course from a recognized Institution with at least three years working experience from a reputable organisation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Typing and printing letters, minutes, notices, bulletins, circulars, certificates, charts and stencils
• Taking proper care of all machines under his/her charge and makes sure they are used for official work only
• Filing copies of typed letters in relevant files
• Receiving and directing visitors
• Attending telephone calls and takes messages
• Performing any other Duties and Responsibilities assigned by one's reporting officer
