Development and Production North America (DPNA) aims to develop a material and profitable position in North America, including deepwater Gulf of Mexico, unconventional gas and oil sands. In doing this, we will establish capability centres for deepwater and unconventional gas operations as well as carbon efficient oil sands extraction. This will ensure our further development in the area.
Job description
- All activities related to the planning, well programs and execution of drilling, completion and work-over, well interventions.
- Actively follow-up that the necessary HSE activities take place.
- Prepare and follow up on the drilling, stimulation and work over budget.
- A continuous effort to train local employees both for their existing positions and for more senior positions. In general build and strengthen the organization. Interface with Petroleum Technology, Production, Legal, HR and Procurement / Contracts Department Implement improvement programs and establishment of Best Practices
- .Establish efficient interfaces with the other parts of the organization.
- Support both the office activities and the activities in the field by frequent visits to the field.
- Build an efficient communication between the team in the office and in the field
- .Ensure that all work related to the planning and executions of well operations are carried out in accordance with Local norms and the Venezuelan Authorities, regulations and the owners.
- Perform Quality Assurance and verify acceptable standard for engineering, operational performance, safety and environmental issues.
- Approve for payment invoices related to work.
- Continuously engage in activities to improve efficiency and reduce cost by evaluating operational results.
- Ensure new technology and equipment is being evaluated to improve results.
- Ensure all relevant well data is recorded and properly saved.
- The position is located in Puerta La Cruz (PLC), and the field is in San Diego de Cabrutica ( Approx 4 hours driving from PLC)
Qualifications
- Administrative experience as Drilling & Well Manager or other drilling related office position with wide multidiscipline and administrative responsibilities
- Minimum of 15 years relevant experience.
- Minimum of BS in Petroleum, Mechanical or other related Engineering degree
- Must have basic Spanish skills to be able to communicate with the field and office staff
- The ability to establish good cooperation and team work.
- A hands-on and proactive attitude.
- Ability to handle a high work-load in a challenging environment.
- A structured approach with regards to planning, coordination and execution

- Relevant experience and a proven track record from the Oil & Gas Industry, Institutional relations, negotiation, technical and financial, team management, internal and external communications, leadership and influence, complex environment handling, project management and strengthen the operating network.
- Operational experience as Drilling Superintendent or Drilling Supervisor.
