Job Title: LRP Program Coordinator - Mafia and Bagamoyo

Job Role: The key objective of this position is coordinate planning and implementation of the Local Rights Program including advocating for changes in policies and practices that impact on the lives of people living in poverty. Coordinating and facilitating local programs for active mobilization, organization and empowerment of local communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate strategic plan development and annual plans and budget the Local Rights Program and facilitate their implementation,
- Mobilization, organization and empowerment of people living in poverty so that they demand their rights
- Initiate and strengthen partnerships with Community Based organizations and other organization that share common objective
- Develop and sustain positive working relationship with partners, CBOs and other actors to influence informal and formal policies
- Support partners to implement poverty focused community interventions
- Work closely with program staff for smooth running of planned activities of the LRP
- Track program progress by ensuring M & E is done continuously and reports written to Head of programs
- Organize periodic reviews and PRRPs
- Assess capacity needs of partners and develop strategies to address the needs
- Coordinate and facilitate research and advocacy works on formal and informal policy
- Contribute to policy briefs and media strategies that inform stakeholders about the policy positions of ActionAid and partners.
- Prepare project concept notes and project proposals for fund raising
- Coordinate communities and children in sponsorship activities
- Manage human and financial resources to the Local Rights Program
- Qualification and Experience: • Bachelor's Degree in Development Studies and other Social Sciences discipline from a recognized institution• At least 3 years of relevant experience• Understanding of programming issues and policy work at state, national and international levels.• Understanding of gender issues in development and demonstrable commitment to promoting women rights within the organization and in programme work• Training in;ü Project planning and managementü Human Rights Based Approachü Public Accountabilityü Participatory approaches and methodologiesü Governance, Civic empowerment and accountabilityü Monitoring and evaluation
