The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) is a German political foundation implementing assignments in the field of governance; rule of law; human rights protection and gender; civil society development; media promotion; parliamentary cooperation; decentralisation and local democracy promotion; socio-economic framework development and poverty alleviation in more than 100 countries on four continents. For one of its projects in Vietnam KAS is currently looking for a project coordinator.
The overall objective of the project is to deepen the political, economic, cultural and business relationships of the EU with Vietnam on account of the European Union's strategic interest in promoting those relationships and for making the EU more relevant as a global actor in all areas covered by the EU's CFSP strategy with Asia and other relevant key EU strategies that have also an external action dimension.
The purpose of this project is to provide consulting services in support of the following specific objectives:
  • to promote widespread understanding and visibility of the EU;
  • to enhance the image of the EU in Vietnam as an economic and business partner, and
  • to encourage, more assertively, reflection and discussion on the EU's policies, its guiding fundamental values, its external relations' agenda and on EU relations with Vietnam, and develop new approaches with a view to give momentum to result-oriented relations and increase delivery of joint actions and results with Vietnam.
Duration of the project: September 2014 - October 2016 

Requirements

Qualifications and skills

  • Preferably a Master degree in political or social science or relevant field;
  • Coordination and communication skills to link all aspects of the project;
  • Excellent English expression both orally and in writing;
  • Good skills in drafting reports;
  • Experience in the country will be an asset.

General professional experience

  • Experience with public and business diplomacy issues and communication;
  • Experience of working with governmental, economic and civil society institutions;
  • Experience in project management;
  • A good general knowledge of the EU and its policies;
  • Knowledge of and working experience in Asia and ASEAN would be an advantage.

Specific professional experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in institutional, political and business related communication;
  • Direct working experience in information, communication, marketing and public diplomacy;
  • Proven knowledge and experience of EU project management procedures would be an advantage.
