CREDIT OFFICERS , Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB)
Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB) seeks to appoint dedicated, self-motivated and highly organized Credit Officers (2 positions) to join Credit Team.

JOB SUMMARY

The Credit Officer will be responsible for appraising all types of loans, carrying out effective and efficient loan follow up/monitoring with a view to maintain a growing and quality loan portfolio. S/he should also be responsible for supervising the appraisal of applications as compiled by subordinates.

Reporting Line: To Credit Manager

Locations: Dar es Salaam, Mwanza

Work Schedule: As per TPB Staff regulations

Salary: Commensurate to the Job Advertised

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-

Appraise credit applications for review by Branch Manager before submitting to Branch Credit Committee.
Advising loan applicants on fate of applications, terms and conditions of approvals.
Reviewing and consolidating reports and submitting consequential reports to Branch Manager.

Monitor repayments of disbursed loans and recommend to the Branch Manager appropriate recovery measures against defaulters.
Reviewing and classifying portfolio on weekly basis and submit the report to Branch Manager.

Attend any other duties as may be assigned by the Credit Manager.

External: Regulators, Clients,Consultants

AUTHORITY LEVELS

As set down in TPB's policy and procedures for a position at a Credit Officer

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Education: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, banking or other related discipline

Experience:  Experience of at least 2 years as a Credit Officer

Skills / Attributes: High level of integrity. Must be keen on details.

Excellent communication and report writing skills. Ability to work under pressure and minimal supervision. Personable and able to relate to people at all levels. Effective negotiation with customers
