ACCA have a new venture to now expand across Africa and are currently looking to recruit a Business Development Manager on a 3 year Fixed term contract.

Overall job purpose:

The BDM Tanzania is primarily responsible for the successful implementation of ACCA strategy in Tanzania in accordance with established global policies, agreed targets and key performance indicators.
The role will involve the formulation and execution of agreed business plans to achieve student and member growth and to develop ACCA's strong reputation in Tanzania. This will involve building relationships with key stakeholders especially universities, learning providers, employers & regulators and ensuring proper budget utilisation.

Critical responsibilities:
develop and manage the strategic and operational affairs of ACCA in Tanzania in accordance with established global policies, agreed targets and key performance indicators

to recruit students by working with Learning providers, Universities and High schools

Identify and work with key stakeholders at appropriate levels to manage key relationships with, employers, tuition providers, universities, and other stakeholders as necessary in country.

oversee an effective marketing strategy to promote ACCA's corporate image and qualifications in Tanzania and implement this using a variety of promotional events, presentations and visits to ACCA stakeholders

working with the regional head of education, provide support to ACCA members and students, employers and tuition providers in Tanzania, in line with the customer engagement frameworks

Capturing and monitoring local business intelligence relating to the market environment (especially accounting profession) which may hinder or improve ACCA's position in the market, and adapt development plans accordingly.

prepare and manage an approved budget for the development, administration and activities of ACCA in Tanzania and submit monthly financial reports in accordance with ACCA internal procedures

undertake line management responsibilities for ACCA Tanzania employees

Other:
The BDM Tanzania will work with the regional head of education & development and the portfolio head in strategic planning, business development, relationship management, marketing, communications and market intelligence. He/She is accountable for the meeting various growth targets, reputation of ACCA partnerships and innovations, members satisfaction and retention, CPD returns , affiliate member conversion and student affiliate conversion, Service level – staff capability, customers satisfaction, infrastructure. Efficiency and effectiveness at strategy execution and outcomes, resource utilisation

Key relationships:

Internal:
Portfolio Head (line manager) – accountable to – for the achievement of objectives and targets – at least monthly and more regular contact as and when required.
Sub-Saharan Africa Heads (Education, Policy, other market heads) regular meetings and contact as and when required to share market intelligence, best practice and to disseminate and receive ideas
Regional Business Support Manager and Customer Service Manager regular meetings and interfacing as and when required to maintain and improve efficiencies
Direct reports – as line manager – frequently. Individually and as a team

External:
Key individuals in government departments, local accountancy bodies and regulators, employers, ACCA members, educational institutions and tuition providers.

Desired Skills and Experience

Knowledge and experience:

have solid demonstrable experience in a senior managerial or marketing role gained in a customer focused environment
demonstrate a proven track record of developing and implementing successful strategic marketing and/or business plans within the context of a multinational organisation
have a good knowledge of the accounting community and accountancy related issues, a good appreciation of economics, business law and public affairs (essential)
possess excellent communication skills and have experience of relationship management with a wide range of stakeholders and presenting at the highest level
be an excellent communicator with first class presentation skills, both written and oral, (essential)
be a proven leader with excellent people-management and influencing skills,
be able to work under pressure, on own initiative and within agreed budgets,
be able to deliver agreed KPI's, in a results driven environment
have proven experience as a team player with excellent people and influencing skills
be able to contribute to ACCA's policy agenda as required.
fluent spoken and written English (essential)


Education and qualifications:

• be educated to Master's degree level in Business Administration, Management, Marketing or a related field and possibly also possess a relevant professional qualification i.e. ACCA, CPA, CIM, MBA etc (advantageous)
