Senior Training Officer Auto Electrical

SENIOR TRAINING OFFICER – AUTO ELECTRICAL 

African Barrick Gold's Bulyanhulu Gold Mine in Tanzania seeks to appoint an experienced Senior Training Officer – Auto Electrical. Reporting to the Training Superintendent, the Senior Training Officer – Auto Electrical will be responsible for the development, implementation, and training of all Auto Electrical training modules for specific mining equipment. The work roster is six weeks on and three weeks off. 

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

• Development of training modules in Auto Electrical for specific mining equipment, UG loaders, UG trucks etc. 
• Deliver auto electrical training courses to all levels of BGML employees. 
• Develop and construct auto electrical circuit board simulators. 
• Produce reports and presentations using Ms Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint. 
• Deliver the training courses to world class standards. 
• Maintain records and equipment at a high standard. 
• Facilitate effective communication and understanding of safety policies and practices. 
• Implementation, valuation and management of the idea suggestion system. 
• Order equipment from outside suppliers. 
• Work on breakdown equipment when required by line supervisors. 
• Work with Maintenance department to identify areas that require training material to be developed. 
• Work with maintenance department to identify individual training needs for Auto Electrical and Mechanical trades to pursue. 
• Develop training material and training aids to a world class standard. 
• Communicate available courses to the workforce and follow up on potential attendees. 
• Ensure delivery of training material is to a word class standard. 
• Maintain up to date records and reports of training. 
• Develop levels and give assistance and support with Workplace Level Assessment Books. 
• Develop skills, provide support and encouragement to Auto Electrical Training Officer and Auto Electrical Trainees. 
• Carry out production maintenance work both on surface and underground as required. 


PROFESSIONAL SKILLS 

Education Requirements: 

• Relevant Trade Qualification - Automotive / Industrial Electronics 
• Certificate IV Workplace Training Assessing / Diploma in Teaching 

Experience Requirements: 

• Minimum 10 years experience as qualified Auto Electrical Tradesman. 
• Exposure to multicultural workforce, previous expat work in Africa. 
• Minimum 5 years experience in the mining industry. 
• Teaching qualification with minimum of 3 years experience delivering workplace training. 
• Exposure to Automotive / Industrial Electronics. 
• Knowledge of Remote Control Machines. 
• Strong hands on Auto Electrical skills working with Underground mobile equipment. 
• Strong computer skills, MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel.
