RUAHA WATER PROGRAMME (RWP) COORDINATOR

Ruaha water programme (RWP) Coordinator
The Coordinator will facilitate agencies responsible for Natural resources management such as Ministries of Water and Irrigation, Agriculture and Food Security, Natural Resources and Tourism, Rufiji Basin Water Office and local government in Iringa and Mbeya in the development and implementation of sustainable water and other related natural resources management within the Great Ruaha Catchment area.

Main Duties and responsibilities:
Coordinating the development and completion of WWF & Partners mission for the RWP according to the goals and objectives set out in the project! programme document; Promote meaningful participation of community stakeholders in all stages of planning and implementation of the programme in collaboration with government institutions and counterparts; Updating relevant Senior WWF - TCO staff on programme progress; Monitoring infrastructure development in the basin and ensure adherence to EIAISEA requirements; Facilitating community adaptive and mitigation measures to the impacts of climate change within the Great Ruaha River Catchment Area; Participate and represent WWF Tanzania in relevant meetings and workshops; Assisting the identification of 'priority research and studies within the programme; and carrying any other activities as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Advanced University degree in Natural Resources Management, Water resources management! hydrology or Environmental Studies; Minimum of 5 year's professional experience in conservation work, specifically related to water resources and other natural resources management; Field experience and understanding of Integrated Water Resources Management, climate change and participatory resources management is essential; ability to work effectively with wide variety of partners and disciplines, diplomatic and multi-cultural especially in the local context; computer literacy and public speaking and presentation.
