PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF ONE- STOP BORDER POST (OSBP) FACILITIES AT KOBERO BORDER POST, BURUNDI/TANZANIA BORDER.

  1. The Government of the Republic of Burundi represented by Office Burundais Des Recettes (OBR) intends to construct One-Stop Border Post (OSBP) facilities at the Kobero Border Post on the Burundi/Tanzania Border.
  2. OBR now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for this construction comprising:-

c) Budget Estimate
The Budget range for the construction is between USD$5,500,000 and US$ 6,200,000
  1. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures.
  2. Minimum qualification requirements for bidders include (but are not limited to):
a. Average annual turnover of construction works over the last three years – US$ 9,000,000.
  1. Experience as a lead contractor in the construction of at least two (2 Number) contracts equivalent to the bid works in the past five (5) years.
  2. Liquid assets/credit facilities available; not less than US$ 1,500,000 in three (3) months.
  1. A margin of preference for eligible East Africa Community Member Countries' contractors/joint ventures of 7.5 per cent shall be applied.
  2. A complete set of bid documents in English language may be inspected and downloaded free of charge from TMEA 's website under the "Work with Us" web page– www.trademarkea.com under Tender Number PO20130061
  3. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Procurement Manager by writing to procurement @trademarkea.com with the correct tender title and number clearly written in the subject of the email. Any email attachment must be no more than 5MB.
  4. There shall be a mandatory pre-bid site meeting at the Kobero Border Post on Monday 19th August, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. Burundi time.
  5. Bids must be delivered to the address in para 10 below by 10.00 a.m. Burundi Time on 20th September, 2013. Bids received after this time will be rejected. All bids must be accompanied by an original Bid Security of US$ 60,000 (United States Dollars Sixty Thousand Only) in the name of TradeMark East Africa, Burundi. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders' representatives, who choose to attend, on 20th September, 2013at 10.30 a.m. Burundi time at the address at para 10 below.
