GSMA Intelligence is looking for an experienced SQL analyst/developer to join our team in London. The candidate selected for this position will become a full time employee of GSMA with full benefits. This position is for our London office in the UK. GSMA Intelligence is the definitive source of mobile operator data, analysis and forecasts, delivering the most accurate and complete set of industry metrics available. Our data is relied on by a majority of the mobile industry, and we're structured as an agile 30-person start-up within a global organisation. Job Description: We require a PostgreSQL specialist; the role will initially involve consolidating individual company databases into a single data store utilising T-SQL, Stored Procedures, and subsequently migrating from MSSQL to PostgreSQL. The role will involve adding to, as well as developing reports, which support GSMA Intelligence products and our customers. This is not an IT administration position – the role is about the data itself although some database administration will be required. Key Skills • Strong evidence of high level technical expertise of working with PostgreSQL • Knowledge of T-SQL • Knowledge of PL/pgSQL • Online transaction processing (OLTP) • Working with Linux-based systems • Proven experience in migrating data and procedures to PostgreSQL Responsibilities • Help design future PostgreSQL architecture, and deliver a highly scalable and reliable PostgreSQL implementation for GSMA Intelligence data. • Documenting system components and procedures. • Document all database system components. • Collaborate with other engineers and product owners to develop a scalable solution that satisfy requirements and meets performance criteria. • Responsible for the timely delivery of project. • Write high-quality software code that complies with design specifications, and meets security best practices. • Create code, and test changes using an Agile methodology. • Work with QA test engineers to perform unit testing, regression testing, automated builds, and source control. • Mentor and guide team members. • Conduct code reviews and provide feedback. • Support the software configuration management process and understand software components and their interface requirements.

Requirements • Build / deploy PostgreSQL software from scratch where required. • Improve performance of the database. • Maintain / improve database resilience. • Extend monitoring of the databases and data integrity through to subsequent data document stores, such as Couchbase.
