CONSULTANCY SUPPORT TV, RADIO AND SMS CAMPAIGN

Background

Restless Development Tanzania is the leading national youth-led development agency. Since 1993 we have been working to place young Tanzanians at the forefront of change and development. The "Mabinti Tushike Hatamu!" programme is a girls leadership programme and a ground-breaking initiative that tests, evaluates and shares with key government, donor, and civil society stakeholders' strategies for reducing the vulnerability of adolescent out-of-school females aged 10-19 to HIV and AIDS, pregnancy and gender-based violence.

Context

Restless Development is seeking consultancy support to create a campaign in the programme Mabinti Tushike Hatamu!, using TV, radio and SMS. We want to use this mix of communication tools in order for the campaign to be as efficient as possible. In line with our unique brand and strategy, and the particular features of the MabintiTushikeHatamu! programme, we're looking for a consultant or company that can convey our impact and role with a creative youthful edge.

You will create compelling images and messages that are suitable for different audiences (main target group – girls out of school, donors and general public) and can be disseminated using TV, radio, and an SMS campaign to create visibility and engagement for the MabintiTushikeHatamu! programme. You will ensure that representatives from our target group, young girls out of school in Temeke, are engaged at all stages. The products will focus on communicating the girls' stories,the vision and goals of the programme, and ensuring target group participation through the SMS campaign.

The specific roles will be as follows:

Identify significant impact stories for the Mabinti Tushike Hatamu! programme within our Dar Es-Salaam working area, Temeke Conduct field based work with the support of our staff and volunteers to create and capture compelling stories and images Develop and implement SMS campaign for survey and information dissemination to programme's target group in Temeke Produce radio and TV adverts based on outcomes of the field based work, connected to the SMS campaign Provide all products in formats accessible for uploading to Restless Development website, Facebook, blogs, you-tube, and other proposed online platforms described in your proposal

Accountability

Budget

Total USD 9,000. Please indicate costs for SMS campaign and Radio/TV adverts separately.

The budget should incorporate all costs related to the project including international and local travel, consultancy fee, visas, accommodation, allowances, equipment, pre-production, production, post-production costs, TV and Radio airtime, SMS costs.

N.B. the adverts and SMS campaign should be aired in connection to international human rights day in December 2013. Please note that this consultancy is funding dependent.
