The organization works to ensure equitable and affordable quality health care services through social accountability monitoring of health systems at all government levels. Sikika seeks to recruit a Program Officer for its Dar es Salaam Office with immediate effect (Re –advertised):
Reports to: Head of Department Medicines & SuppliesJob Purpose: To advocate for "Efficiency, Transparency and accountability in procurement & distribution of medicines & supplies"
Responsibilities

Review Parliamentary bills
Human rights advocacy
Constitutional review focusing on health
Assist other department in interpretation of Local and International Laws and regulations operating within Tanzania jurisdiction.

Facilitate litigation as an advocacy strategy
Design and implement advocacy activities to improve efficiency, transparency and accountability in the procurement & distribution of medicines & supplies.

Design and conduct research to assess the performance of the procurement and distribution of pharmaceuticals (pharmaceuticals supply chain), focusing on efficiency, transparency and accountability.

Write high quality research reports.
Take part in internal and external peer reviews of colleagues' reports.
Engage with local government authorities and central government on all issues relating to procurement and distribution of essential medicines and supplies

In close coordination with Head of Department manage engagements with MOHSW, Pharmaceutical service unit, MSD, TFDA, Pharmaceutical infrastructure & food technical working group and other Pharmaceutical bodies

Participate in all media activities related to your department
Qualifications: Masters of Law or Public Health/ Social sciences with Law background
(i) At least three years experience in areas related to your responsibilities (ii) Excellent writing and communication skills (iii) Strong research and analytical skills (iv) High level strategic ability and advocacy skills (v) Computer skills (vi) Strong organizational and management skills
