The Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) was established under the Public Corporations Act No. 17 of 1969 by a Presidential Order through Government Notice number 115, published on 25th August, 1978. The Centre is wholly owned by the Government of United Republic of Tanzania and operates under the purview of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation.

The AICC was established to manage and control the Headquarters' complex of the defunct East African Community and all other premises and lands in Arusha which belonged to the defunct East African Community and to provide facilities and services on the complex for purposes of conferences, meetings, seminars etc

The Centre's mission is to promote and provide quality congress tourism services to national and International clientele for enhanced national social and economic development with the vision of being sustainable world class congress tourism.

The Centre invites applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill in the below mentioned vacant post:-

1. ASSISTANT PROCUREMENT AND SUPPLIES OFFICER II (ONE POST)

Answerable to Chief Procurement and Supplies Officer.

Qualification & Experience

* Graduate in Materials Management or its equivalent.
* At least three (3) years proven experience as a procurement officer in a reputable Organisation.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Handling procurement and supplies activities at AICC.
* Assisting in the preparation of budget plans for procurement by estimating and forecasting consumption of materials and services in terms of value and volume
* Purchasing supplies and recording of purchases and materials in store
* Supporting and implementing the functions of the AICC Tender Board.
* Performing any other duties relevant to the scope of work as may be assigned by the Chief Procurement and Supplies Officer.

2. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY OFFICER II (ONE POST)

Answerable to Director of Conferences and Marketing.

Qualifications

* Graduate in Computer Science, Information and Communication Technology or any other related field from a recognised institution.
* Holder of DCN (Digital Congress Network) will be an added advantage
* At least three (3) years proven experience in a reputable Organisation handling ICT issues

Attributes

* Good knowledge in Net working (LAN, WAN, VoIP etc)
* Good knowledge of CCTV equipments
* Familiar with different audio and visual equipments and software
* Able to work independently in very challenging environment
* Excellent communication in English ( French will be an added advantage)

Duties & Responsibilities

* Providing ICT services for the Centre.
* Finding the causes of ICT systems problems and make necessary restructuring.
* Reporting and repairing ICT system problems.
* Attending daily ICT system problems and keeping records of maintenance.
* Recommending policies, standards and standard procedures for the controlling efficient use of ICT systems in the Centre.
* Preparing annual budgets and manpower plans for the Information Technology Unit.
* Maintaining records on the condition the ICT system performance in the Centre.
* Ensuring that requiring daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually reports regarding ICT activities are prepared on time.
* Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the Director Conferences and Marketing.

3. OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY (ONE POST)

Answerable to Administrative Officer

Qualification & Experience

* Holder of Diploma in Secretarial Studies from a recognized institution.
* Must be computer literate and with excellent knowledge and command of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Power point).
* At least Seven (7) years proven experience as an Office Management Secretary in a reputable organisation.

Duties & Responsibilities

+ Drafting of replies to letters as directed by the Managing Director.
+ Maintaining a diary of appointments for the Managing Director and advising/ reminding the Managing Director about these appointments.
+ Taking dictations, transcribing by word processing and presenting an accurate and free from errors work for signature.
+ Receiving and answering fax/telephone, calls/intercoms, giving information to callers and circulating information to appropriate officers.
+ Filing minutes, correspondence and other documents and maintaining files in secure custody using laid down office procedures.
+ Relaying verbal messages and instructions from the Managing Director to other staff.
+ Making safari arrangements, confirmation of hotel bookings and reservations for the Managing Director.
+ Composing correspondence, reports, forms, and other documents independently or from transcribing machines, notes, or general instruction from the Managing director.
+ Answering general phone inquiries using a professional and courteous manner and directing them to the appropriate places.
+ Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the Administrative Officer.

Terms of Employment: Permanent and pensionable
