MENTORS FOR THE YOUTH ACCOUNTABILITY ADVOCATES

Closing date:  5.00pm(EAT) on Monday 29th February 2016
Salary: voluntary work
Location: Tanzania
The 'Kijana Wajibika' project (dubbed Big Idea) is a new programme on youth-led accountability for the Sustainable Development Goals led by Restless Development. The hypothesis behind 'Kijana Wajibika' is simple: empower young people with knowledge, skills and networks, connect them to meaningful opportunities to participate, support them to curate official data and generate their own and they will become leaders in exercising accountability for the Post-2015 framework.
The Volunteer Youth Accountability Advocates are a group of 20 dedicated, connected and knowledgeable young professionals from youth-led networks and CBOs in Tanzania. Between January and June 2016, the 20 Youth Accountability Advocates will be trained and mentored to design and implement a national monitoring and accountability framework that, together with a national alliance of young people, peer organisations and other youth partners, they can use to hold their government accountable to implementing the new SDGs.

We are seeking talented and experienced governance professionals to act as mentors to the Volunteer Accountability Advocates, on a voluntary basis. They will coach and provide technical and professional assistance to 4 Volunteer Accountability Advocates each, based in their respective districts for the duration of the programme. Mentors will be recruited in 5 districts (5 regions) of Tanzania connected through a network and online platforms. They will receive regular support and communications from Restless Development's Kijana Wajibika team.
Applications to be submitted via email to Oscar Kimaro (oscar@restlessdevelopment.org copy inabdull@restlessdevelopment.org) by (5.00pm EAT) on Monday 29th February, 2016.
