Director of Business Resources and Strategy , Plan International

To truly transform children's lives, Plan International is changing fast. You can be a driving force behind that change, in this brand new role on our Executive Team. Our mission is children's rights, with a special focus on girls and disadvantaged children. You can transform the way we work – making us a more joined-up, efficient and effective force for good.
About us
Globally, Plan International is one of the top 5 INGOs in terms of size and reach. Supported by our Federation of 21 fundraising national offices, we work in over 80 developing countries across Africa, Asia and the Americas to promote child rights, and lift millions of children and their communities out of poverty.
The role
This is a high-profile opportunity to lead on new and different approaches, re-shaping how we operate on a global level. There is a strong focus on Finance, IT and our other non-frontline departments. We want you to embed an 'Integrated Planning Framework' that aligns and streamlines our processes and systems, ensuring they are absolutely switched on to help us deliver our strategy.
You will be expected to partner with other senior leaders across the organisation to lead on first class stewardship of our resources and operational performance. You can make a transformational impact by driving continuous improvement of business processes, high levels of user-satisfaction and cost-effective use of business resources and solutions.
Ideally the role will be based at our International HQ in Woking (near London), but we would consider any location where Plan International has a legal presence.
Your profile
You must have successful experience in a senior-level role within an organisation of comparable complexity – this could be in the commercial, government or NGO/charity sector.
You will be an excellent business strategist who understands how systems can be structured and improved to support a growing and successful organisation. SAP experience is a must, and a finance qualification is preferred – but business vision and acumen is more important than technical accounting skills.
Your experience of managing and leading a diverse set of departments/functions will enable you to bring teams together to maximise the scale and reach of Plan International's impact.
If you wish to have an informal discussion about the role before applying, please contact Richard Fisher, Recruitment Manager at +44 (0)1483 733216.
