WaterAid transforms lives by improving access to safe water hygiene and sanitation in the world's poorest communities. We are now recruiting for the following 3 posts:
Director of Policy Research and Advocacy:
The post holder will lead a team to develop and implement an influencing agenda based on real evidence, policy and advocacy to ensure equitable access to WASH services. The successful candidate will engage WaterAid in policy debates at national, local government and community levels.
As a member of the senior management team post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the latest information from these policy debates feeds into Water Aid's wider work and strengthening networking and collaboration amongst sector stakeholders, international agencies to encourage the development of pro-poor policies and the achievement of water and sanitation sector goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading the policy, research and Advocacy team to successfully implement the influencing agenda and plans,
Oversee production of quality research and practice so it results in sustainable improvements to access to WASH for all.
Conduct periodic policy analysis of the wider social, political and -economic contexts and also the key sector issues and best practice to ensure that the Country Programme stays at the forefront of national development policy debates, review relevant literature for identification of critical evidence gaps on delivery of WASH.
Promote Water Aid's mission by securing media coverage and spearheading advocacy events such as press conferences, research finding launching,\ as well as commemorating relevant dates such as world toilet day and world water day
Lead on power mapping strategic networking and campaigns across the sector by using WaterAid Tanzania's in service delivery work as demonstration of successful approaches.
Build relationships, partnerships and networks with other relevant sectors of health and education to raise the profile of sanitation and water nationally.
To be successful you will need to have Master's degree in Development studies, Social Sciences, with either a postgraduate diploma in Project Management, journalism or similar. Holders of a
Masters in Project Management with international development I, human rights, media or related area will be considered.
Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.

Experience, knowledge and skills:
Proven ability of successfully managing a team of producing quality. reports, policy briefs, Policy design and interpretation.
Having had a good number of publications of articles in the recognized journals is preferred.
Experience of leading research programmes and proven ability to analyse (qualitative and quantitative) data .
Experience in policy campaigns and dialogue with government and donors on WASH sector issues is desirable.
Strong writing skills, including experience producing proposals, reports, and other informational documents.
Significant relevant and proven experience preferably in NGOs, to include:
Administrator/Receptionist:
You will be responsible for the effective and efficient Front Office and administrative support provided to staff in the Country Programme Office. This includes logistical responsibility for in-country and international travel, accommodation facilitation, upkeep and' management of organization property
You will be responsible for the day to day 1 management of Tanzania's Front Office and
Administration related activities
Key responsibilities
Ensure office equipment is fit for purpose.
Education and aptitude: Diploma or Degree in
Business Administration/ Office management or
Professional secretarial studies OR equivalent experience.
Job related experience and knowledge:
Experience in procurement and logistics administration.
Supporting the Front Office & Office
Administrator to ensure that procurement services are provided in such a professional
Ensuring that a high standard of secretarial service is provided to
WaterAid including an efficient system for keeping all records.
Ensuring that all rental, utility bills subscriptions or other service contracts (photocopier, internet and other machinery servicing contracts) are renewed in a timely manner
Supporting Administration and Finance to ensure that all valuable assets are insured and that all insurance policies are kept up to date.
To ensure that all visitors are received in courtesy in order to promote good front office image. '
Responsible for proving a good working environment.
Highly organized, comfortable with responsibility, have 'sound judgment, excellent organizational and analytical )skills, initiate work plans and deliver effectively to deadlines
secretarial and Computer Skills in MS
Windows, Word, Excel, Internet explorer, ,Microsoft outlook and preferably knowledge of Computer Networking
Driver
As a Driver it's your wholly responsibility
: to oversee the operations and maintenance of WAT vehicles in your possession.
Key Accountabilities:
Ensuring that all WaterAid vehicles are well maintained and repairs are done in only approved garages.
Supporting the Administration office to ensure that logistic services are provided in a timely and reliable fashion
Will carry out minor repairs and DIY requirements on all vehicles as required by any vehicle driver.
Ensures all vehicles are properly up-dated on their insurance and licences policies.
Prepare and issue log books for each vehicle for 'purposes of assisting in monitoring mileage, fuel consumption and vehicle usage.
Together with the concerned staff, in-charqe and plan for field trips and advise accordingly to tlmelines required for travel.
Responsible for safety outside the premises.
Education and aptitude:Form Four Leaver; NIT Certificate of vehicles
Job related experience and knowledge:
Minimum 5 years professional driving experience
Experienced driving in Dar, long distance and off road
Class license C
Advanced driving certificate
