NATIONAL PROGRAMME ASSISTANT POSITION
The Embassy of Sweden in Dar es Salaam represents the Swedish government in the United Republic of Tanzania and the EAC. The 'Work of the Embassy comprises of maintaining good diplomatic relations with United Republic of Tanzania, the EAC, political analysis and reporting on internal and external developments in Tanzania as well as on Madagascar, development cooperation, trade promotion, information, migration and consular matters and to promote Swedish interests.

National Programme Assistant

We would like to invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of National Programme Assistant. This position is for four years contract and six months' probation period.

The job holder will report to the Head of Development Cooperation Division for Tanzania and will have the following duties and responsibilities:

Management of International Training Programme (ITP) courses - communicate to Sida
HQ, Swedish Institutions, Tanzanian authorities/ companies, disseminate training documentation, receive, review and send applications to Swedish related institutions and wait for selection. Maintain database record of applicants at all steps.
Assist the Development Cooperation Division (DCD) in matters such as; arranging for DCD seminars and meetings; travel planning; and preparing payments; updating the website, social media and coordinating information within and from DCD.
Assist the Development Cooperation Division (DCD) in registration and archiving of documents related to DCD, including maintain physical and electronic filing of DCD agreements, contracts and decisions.
Second hand responsibility for the ambassador's secretary.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
At least a Diploma in administration or equivalent qualifications (a degree in administration with relevant experience is added advantage)
At least three (3) years of relevant working experience
Excellent working knowledge of English and Kiswahili including reading and writing skills
Good knowledge and ability to work with Microsoft computer software
Good administrative skills including web page administration
Ability to acquire new knowledge and use it at work
Ability to work in a multicultural environment .
Ability to communicate and cooperate easily with government and international institutions, donor agencies, companies and colleagues
Ability to take initiative and work independently'
Flexibility to take on new tasks and challenges
Be able to handle a multitasking situation
