The World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are currently seeking to fill an internship position under the Data Analysis and Technical Support Unit of the Government Partnerships Division. The position will be based at our Headquarters in Rome, Italy. The Internship will be for an initial period of 6 months starting from February 2015.
Description
The selected candidate will be assisting the Government Partnerships Division with the following key duties:
  • Assist the Senior Information Knowledge Management Officer in the weekly publication and dissemination of PGG statistical reports such a Resource Situation;
  • Assist the Donor Relations Programme Assistant in providing: WFP's funding information for each country appealing in the OCHA's Financial Tracking System (FTS); on a monthly basis WFP funding information for L-3 countries for OCHA's FTS and weekly L-3 alignment report on WFP's funding and operational requirements data in comparison with FTS and OPS (Online Project System);
  • Maintain/update a detailed tracking table of all OCHA Appeals;
  • Perform a detailed match between WINGS funding information and OCHA FTS on line report;
  • Assist in the organization of information for the team and division using the share point and docustore;
  • For each country appealing, provide to Country Office funding information for their verification and clearance;
  • Perform other duties as required.
Essential Requirements
  • Currently enrolled or have recently graduated from a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology or related field ;
  • Have completed at least two years of undergraduate study;
  • Have attended courses in the last 12 months;
  • Proficiency in MsOffice (Word, Excel, Power Point);
  • Fluent in English;
  • Basic analytical ability; basic computer skills; good interpersonal skills; ability to work in a multi-cultural team environment.
Terms and Conditions
  • Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP up to the amount of US$700 per month depending on the duty station.
  • WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, travel to and from WFP internship location, necessary visas and costs related.
