Intern, Economic Development and Livelihoods
The Intern will provide technical support to projects within the Private Sector Innovations Practice, specifically the Local Enterprise Support Project and Workforce Connection Project. The Intern will also provide new business support to the Economic Development and Livelihoods group as necessary.
Job Summary / Responsibilities:
  • Support the LENS Research and Learning agenda.
  • Provide technical support in the development and dissemination of tools, materials, reports, papers, and interventions for research projects.
  • Conduct analysis, and draft and edit technical reports and documents.
  • Assist with the development of publications, web pages, and presentations.
  • Conduct searches of published literature on evolving issues in MSE development, competitiveness, local economic development, etc. in support of LENS.
  • Keep abreast of technical developments within Jordan and the MENA region to identify opportunities for LENS.
  • Monitor and maintain protocols, instruments, data sets, manuals, training materials and reports.
  • Assist in developing Scopes of Work for technical specialists
  • Assist in reviewing field grant packages for LENS.
  • Assist in developing and revising proposed grant RFAs and APS, and cross-reference with technical indicators and outcomes.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of small bids and proposals in the MENA region
  • Contribute to advancing the design of Workforce Connections youth engagement and sustainability initiative, called the Talent Cloud.
  • Support Workforce Connections' labor market assessment teams through data analysis and secondary research.
  • Support project director, as requested, with launching new initiatives including those linked to FHI 360's investments in thought leadership.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or its international equivalent in International Development, Economics or related field.
Experience
  • Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with clients and staff.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English; ability to speak Arabic is a plus.
  • Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO).
