Assistant Technical Coordinator at Children’s Book Project for Tanzania (CBP)

The Children's Book Project for Tanzania (CBP) works in partnership with Creative Associates International to implement literacy programme in Mtwara and Zanzibar
CPB and CAI are looking for one qualified candidate to fill the position of Assistant Technical coordinator, for the period of five months (January to May 2015)

Position             :    Assistant Technical Coordinator 
Location            :    Zanzibar 
Reporting to     :    Executive Secretary, CBP 

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION 
a.    Coordinate preparation and implementation of literacy programme in Zanzibar 
b.    Coordinate preparation and implementation of Teacher Resource centre coordinators, Teachers colleges tutors in Zanzibar for materials production for their areas 
c.    Coordinate resource production and dissemination in schools 
d.    Prepare activity reports on book production and dissemination to school 
e.    Participate in best manuscript selection 
f.    Liaise with CBP on all matters concerning CBP activities under CAI 
g.    Coordinate the collection of quality monitoring data, analysis and reporting regularly
h.    Other duties as assigned by CBP and CAI 
i.    Prepare monthly activity reports for CBP 
j.    Coordinate preparation implementation of writers workshop in Zanzibar 

QUALIFICATION 
•    A minimum of first degree in social sciences 
•    Experience in monitoring matters related to literacy 
•    Computer literacy in Microsoft word, Excel and Access 
•    Fluent in both spoken and writing English and Kiswahili 
•    Experience working with NGOs and or donor funded programmes is an added advantage
