Program Officer, Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition

Program Officer, Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition
Please include a cover letter with your resume describing how your experience matches the requirements of the position.
The Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition is a global partnership of more than 300 public, private, and non-governmental organizations dedicated to ensuring that all people in low- and middle-income countries can choose, obtain, and use affordable, high-quality reproductive health supplies and related services. The Coalition's Secretariat, which is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, includes full- and part-time staff located around the word. The Secretariat is managed by PATH, an international, non-profit organization that helps communities break longstanding cycles of poor health.
The Coalition Secretariat is seeking a dynamic and experienced Brussels-based Program Officer, who will report to the Deputy Director, to lead its initiative, Delivering on Promises, which aims to leverages the supply-related aspirations voiced on the global stage into powerful drivers for change at home.
The last half decade has seen governments from across the Global South commit themselves to ensuring equitable access to affordable, quality reproductive health supplies. Many have chosen to deliver their commitments at key international events where they can attract a global audience and hopefully garner the support needed to make those commitments a reality. But once back home, the challenge of delivering on those commitments begins. By virtue of their visibility, such commitments do represent unique vehicles for change by galvanizing the multi-sector support and national ownership needed to turn promises into reality.
By working with partners at the country and global levels, the Coalition aims to assemble the diversity of technical skills required to realize those aspirations, celebrate the successes of governments that take appropriate action, and ensure those successes are replicated globally. Key Responsibilities include:
  • Lead all aspects of the Coalition's Delivering on Promises Initiative and serve as thought-leader within the organization on the subject.
  • Manage and expand implementation activities in partner countries.
  • Closely monitor progress towards and take responsibility for donor deliverables related to commitments.
  • Write and contribute to reports, publications, concept notes and proposals.
  • Actively support the operations of the Coalition's Advocacy & Accountability Working Group including the planning of and facilitating its regular meetings, maintaining active member engagement and leading efforts to unite diverse partners around shared objectives.
  • Play active team role in the successful organization and implementation of the Coalition's annual meetings.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with members and other partners including the facilitation of discussions and public presentations.
  • Coordinate capacity-building opportunities for A&A and other Coalition members.
  • Monitor country-level commitments to reproductive health and accumulate lessons learned in order to ensure that Commitments Compendium is dynamic, continually updated and current.
Required Skills
  • Intimate familiarity with reproductive health products and services.
  • An experienced networker with a proven track record of interacting with governments, civil society, private sector and donor agencies.
  • Experience in designing, implementing and monitoring successful activities in low income countries.
  • Ability to coordinate multi-partner initiatives, manage sub-agreements, and provide technical assistance to partners: proven ability to lead from behind.
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken, and strong presentation skills.
  • French required, Spanish a plus.
  • Demonstrable experience in finding creative approaches to solving problems.
  • Strong methodological and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills: a proven team player.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25 percent.
Required Experience
Master's degree in public health, international development or related field required.  10+ years of experience in advocacy in the health care sector, ideally in reproductive health.
PATH is dedicated to diversity and is an equal opportunity employer.
