Iringa Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (IRUWASA) has the duty of providing portable water and sanitation services at affordable prices to the residents of Iringa Municipality for enhancing their health and quality of life.

In order to achieve the compact objectives, IRUWASA now seeks applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians who are self motivated, hardworking, honest and committed to their work to fill the following positions:-

Legal Officer Grade I 
Location > Iringa 

Reports to: Managing Director

Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares legal documents (Contracts, Deeds, etc).
Prepares pleadings.
Participates in negotiations with outside parties.
Provides legal advice to the Authority.
Provides legal opinion on matters relating to probates and administration.
Appears and litigates cases in Courts of Law.
Assigns indexes, files, register authority notices and all other legal documents and ensure their safe custody.
Compiles relevant evidence for Court cases involving the Authority.
Attends registration of all legal documents and probate matters.
Manage all Authority legal related dealings/ matters

Qualifications and Working Experience
Holder of Bachelor Degree in Law from a recognized Institution plus a successful one year internship or Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice issued by Law School of Tanganyika with 3 years of working experience in a relevant position.
He or She should be computer literate and a registered Advocate and
Notary Public of High Court and Subordinate Courts.

Remuneration
According to IRUWASA Salary Scale: IWAS 7 = (1,200,000.00).

Internal Auditor Grade II 
Location > Iringa

Reports to : Internal Auditor Grade I

Duties and Responsibilities

Prepares periodic audit reports.
Analyses and reports on the system in place used to safeguard assets.
Synchronizes and analyses Audit queries.
Participates in executing Internal Audit Programmes according to
International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
Ascertains the extent of compliance with prescribed plans, procedures and Financial and other Regulations.
Participates in undertaking special investigations and makes constructive suggestions for improving operational and strategic performance of the Authority.
Participates in producing regular -audit reports on investigation auditing undertaken

Qualifications and Working Experience
Holder of Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Auditing or any other relevant qualification from a recognized Institution

Remuneration
According to IRUWASA Salary Scale: IWAS 5 = (715,000.00).

 Technican Grade I 
Location > Iringa

Reports to: Technical Manager

Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains water sources (bore holes, springs and catchments) and water tanks;
Regularly determines resource requirements for proper production of adequate water and sewerage services.
Establishes and maintains records of water production and treatment, sets minimum water levels in tanks.
Ensures security of the water sources, reservoirs and pump houses, by making sure that only authorized persons are accessible to these sensitive points.
Establishes and maintains water pumps operation schedules.
Prepares reports on the performance trend of water sources, production and treatment targets.
Provides management information and statistics of actual performance trend versus the approved plans/target showing the gaps in performance and suggesting corrective measures in consultation with immediate Supervisor.
Assists in the preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports on raw and clean water levels, electricity consumption rates, human resource, water pollution level trends, water colour and the possible solutions adopted or to be applied.
Participates in Non-Revenue Water (NRW) reduction works.

Qualifications and Working Experience
Holder of an Ordinary Diploma or Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in
Civil, Water Supply, Environmental Sanitation, Chemical Processing, Electrical Engineering.

Remuneration
According to IRUWASA Salary Scale: IWAS 4 = (541,000.00).

 Personal Secretary Grade II 
Location > Iringa 

Duties and Responsibilities
Performs all Secretarial duties including word processing of reports,
records, memoranda, minutes, letters and documents.
Files correspondences, minutes, records and documents.
Handles and dispatches correspondences.
Ensures cleanliness and proper office arrangements.
Receives and answers or direct telephone calls to other staff.
Takes care of all machines and equipments under her/his charge.
Handles visitors, ascertain the nature of their business and relays information to the executive concerned.
Handles a diary of appointments, meetings, occasions, official
travelling and other scheduled activities for the executives and inform/
remind them before and on due date.
Prepares and facilitates departmental and other meetings and process records of the proceedings.
Takes dictations and transcribes accordingly.
Attends routine hotel and travel arrangements of the executives.

Qualifications and Working Experience
Holder of Certificate in Secretarial Duties with a pass of 80 wpm short hand Kiswahili and English, Office Management or Computer studies from an Institution recognized by NACTE.
Working experience of at least 3 years in a relevant field.

Remuneration
According to IRUWASA Salary Scale: IWAS 3 = (406,000.00).

 Sales Assistants (x 2 ) 
Location > Iringa

Reports to : Sales Officer

Duties and Responsibilities
Receives and attends customer complaints and channel them to the respective section.
Assists in computing customer bills.
Receives, collects and prepares customers data.
Distribution of customer bills.
Ensures that water supply and sanitation services revenue are promptly collected.
Ensures that customer meter reading is done correctly by using data loggers or any meter reading gadget.
Performing any other additional duties assigned to him/her.

Qualifications and Experience
Holder of Form IV /VI Certificate of Secondary Education and who has attained A Certificate in Business Administration, Marketing,
Procurement and Supplies Management or Logistics Management or any other relevant qualifications from a recognized Institution.
He or she must be computer literate.

According to IRUWASA Salary Scale: IWAS 3 = (406,000.002.

Office Assistant 
Location > Iringa

Reports to : Human Resources & Administration Manager
Qualifications and Experience
Holder of Form IV /VI Certificate of Secondary Education with a pass in English and Swahili.
Computer literacy will be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in ensuring proper office arrangements, cleanliness of offices and its environment
Assists in preparation of tea for officers.
Assists in performing secretarial duties including word processing of reports, records, letters and other documents.
Assists in ensuring that, doors and windows are opened and closed in time. .
Assists in making copies of documents according to the needs of the office. .
Assists in sending and collecting official parcels and letters to and from the post office.
Assists in distributing the incoming mails to the respective

Remuneration
According to IRUWASA Salary Scale: IWAS 1 = (295,000.00).

 Credit Control Manager
Location > Iringa 

Reports to: Commercial Manager

Duties and Responsibilities
Monitors aging debtors and follows up long overdue debts.
Handles legal accounts and follows up settlements.
Reports daily and monthly cash collections and debtors analysis.
Implements credit policy and procedures.
Visits customers and monitor compliances of credit policy.
Collaborates with the credit control team to follow up outstanding debts. '
Prepares and keeps customer records.
Generates reminders/billing statements and disconnection notices.
Making sure that all Authority revenue is collected in time
Initiates all bills adjustments if any.


Qualifications and Working Experience
Holder of Bachelor Degree or an Advanced Diploma in Economics,
Accountancy, Business Administration (Accounts - or Finance), Procurement and Supplies Management or B.Com. Degree or any other relevant qualifications from a recognized Institution.
He or she must be computer literate.

Remuneration
According to IRUWASA Salary Scale: IWAS 5 = (715,000.00).

Tenure of Appointment
Appointment will be on contractual terms (three years) renewable upon good
performance of the employee.
