Job Title: Brand Change Manager  SBL
Level: 5                                                                                                                           Reports To: Supply Chain Director/Head of Quality SBL
Dimensions:
The role reports into the SBL Supply Chain Director/Head of Quality, When assigned to an activity, the bearer will have responsibility for specific deliverables and will be managed from a project perspective.
Market Complexity:
Interfacing across 3 sites in Tanzania as well as a broad set of suppliers, both local and Global. Linkage with EABL as the mother company and Diageo more broadly with regards to process & standards.
Interfacing across Supply/Commercial and EABL innovation as well as Diageo Innovation.  As this is a brand change role, a high degree of ambiguity is the norm and creating possibilities and finding solutions are critical capabilities. Ensuring that all technical problems (both internal and external) are resolved effectively and in a timely manner to avoid loss of production. Vendor quality assurance complexity.
Leadership Responsibilities:
Lead a project team of Brewers, Pilot Plant Operations Manager and Product Development Technologists who develop, produce and test new products.
Adopts a range of approaches to get things done across different parts of the business. Operates in a determined and purposeful manner and is tenacious at achieving goals Demonstrates exemplary stakeholder engagement capability.

Purpose of Role:
Accountable to the business for the effective delivery of brand change, process improvement/ issue resolution, manufacturing compliance for SBL's brands and packaging operations.
Partner with suppliers with the aim of improving and sustaining the quality of supplied materials.
TOP 5-8 Accountabilities:
  • To identify the optimum supply solution for all innovation projects in SBL, managing the pipeline, serving as a single point of contact for Supply while managing relationships and ways of working with EABL & Diageo Technical Centres, and Brand Teams.
  • Ensure all projects are managed successfully delivering in full with no quality incidents, while maximising SBL value.
  • Lead product development projects from conceptualisation through to commercialisation and launch, taking full accountability for the Technical Project Deliverables, working in partnership with Diageo Supply, EABL Supply Centres and CAPEX scoping engineers. Role out such projects to supply.
  • Carry out projects and co-ordinate plant trials on new processes / raw material with a view of cost cutting and or quality improvements to give the group a competitive advantage in the market.
  • Formulate production processes for new products to capture market share in line with marketing objectives.
  • Receive QC reports from contract manufacturers on all new products and observe for trends graphs major deviation from specification.
  • Deliver all work to agreed standard on time and within budget while at all times complying with Health and Safety requirements and Good Manufacturing Practice
  • Together with procurement and legal team ensure that all contracts embody a quality clause that addresses material quality so as to ensure compliance to EABL quality specification
Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • At least 2 years experience in Brew master role.
  • Degree in a scientific discipline. Master Brewer qualification preferred. 5+ years' management / leadership experience in a Brewing Technical / Supply Chain role.
  • High level of personal credibility, impact and influencing skill. High commercial and financial awareness.
  • Portfolio management experience ensuring delivery of a large portfolio of projects.
  • Good understanding of total end-to-end supply chain
  • Good awareness of Diageo Risk  management standards, Key ISO standards and HACCP.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to be successful.
  • Improves processes by looking end-to-end across the Supply Chain.
