Under the supervision of the Chief, Training and Development Section, the incumbent is responsible for managing a portfolio of learning programmes and planning and leading Mobile Training Team (MTT) missions to conduct security training missions for all United Nations (UN) security officers, Designated Officials, Security Management Team members and UN personnel at large in the field; conducting training needs assessments and developing Competency Based Learning (CBL) Programmes for all security learning courses; preparing standardized security CBL modules, instructional materials and exercises.

Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Management, Political sciences/Social sciences, international relations, law enforcement, security management, education or related discipline. A first level University degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience in a related area may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Certification from a Police/Military War College/Senior Staff Course is an advantage.

A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of security management, preferably in a police, military or national security context is required. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in preparing and conducting CBL adult learning both in field and formal settings is required. International field security experience preferably within the UN system is desirable.

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Fluency in French or Spanish or Arabic is desirable.
